A place where faith, learning and imagination go hand in hand. Faith comes alive as kids experience age-specific learning through exciting story-telling that is biblically-based, interactive music that gets kids moving and hands-on crafts that reinforce key Bible concepts!

Purpose StatementThe purpose of Westwood Community Church is to honor God by enjoying Him through reaching people with the love of Jesus Christ.

Vision StatementWe demonstrate God’s love in creative and compelling ways that lead people to know God, worship Him authentically, grow spiritually, serve joyfully and connect relationally. We are a community with open hands, receiving from God all He wants to give, believing He wants to give us a lot. And with open hands we give it away, believing we cannot out-give God.

ValuesOur purpose and vision exist because:

We love God with all that we are, have and do.

We love all people because all people matter to God.

WESTWOOD COMMUNITY CHURCH

Worship ServicesWestwood services are dynamic and inspiring. As we express our worship to God, the music is celebratory though the style is varied. At our morning services (8:30, 9:45 and 11:05) you’ll experience a blend of updated traditional hymns, along with the songs of today.

At our 5:00 Saturday and Sunday evening ELEMENTS services, the environment is relaxed and the music is a blend of soulful songs that are both relevant and reverent. All our services feature thought-provoking messages that present biblical truth that you can apply to your life.

Through this 24-hour prayer event, we will honor God and unite as a church to pray for each other, for the direction of our church and needs in our community and world.

We asked Pastor Joel, “Why is this so important?” His reply:

“God calls us to pray. When we pray: We become aware of His presence and provision for our needs We unite together around His plans He leads us so that we know what to do, what to say, and how to be in life. We see love restored, joy released, peace renewed. We have needs met, relations enriched, depression lifted Lives change for the better.”

Prayer is powerful. Come to the 24-hour prayer event by yourself, with your family or with your small group. Just come and see what God will do for you, for Westwood and most importantly, for His name! Pray Around the Clock will take place in the Worship Center.

Sign up for a 30-minute segment. A prayer resource will be available to guide you through your prayer time. Sign Up! Go to: www.westwoodcc.org/Pages/Resources/PrayAroundTheClock

The Best of Israel

Pastor Joel and Keri Johnson will be leading a trip to the Holy Land from April 23 to May 2, 2013. Joining them in leading this trip will be David Brickner, Executive Director of Jews for Jesus—who led in the Seder observances here at Westwood. You’ll walk where Jesus walked, and the Bible will come to life as you visit the sites where it was written and experienced. Sites include Nazareth, Galilee, Capernaum, the Dead Sea, Masada, Jerusalem, the Mt. of Olives, the Via Dolorosa, the Western Wall and the Garden Tomb. In addition you’ll learn about Jews for Jesus’ exciting ministry in Israel.

To learn more, attend an informational meeting in the Link on Saturday, Nov 10 or Sunday, Nov 11 at 3:30pm. Pastor Joel will share about the experience and answer your questions. A brochure is available on the Westwood website.
