  • INTRODUCED CLUB BYLAWS

(as per club constitution,6.1, Power and Duties, (f) )

    Bylaw 1

    Committee meeting #0007, 14/2/2014 :-

Those applying for membership in the months of April, May and June will be granted membership for the balance of the current club year (July to June) and the following 12 months for the cost of the full subscription fee. As an example, a member who joins in April will have a 15 month subscription for the cost of 12 months. Joining in May will result in a 14 month subscription and a June joining, a 13 month subscription.

Motion was proposed by Phil Bamford. Seconded by Murray Packer. Carried.

    Bylaw 2

    Committee meeting #0008, 13/07/2014

A record will be kept of any rule/bylaw changes or new rule/bylaw introduced by the committee. A book will be kept where details of any new or amended rule will be recorded noting the date and which committee meeting this occurred.

A digital copy will also be kept in the Car Club folder on the computer.

    Bylaw 3

    Committee meeting #0038, 12/1/2017 :-

When a member of a family membership turns 18 years of age, he will continue to be a member under the family membership until the end of the current club year, i.e. 30th June. From the 1st July, he will need to renew his membership status as a single membership. He will not have to pay a joining fee as he is already a member through the family membership but will have to pay a renewing fee as a single. If his birthday should fall e.g. 29th June, he is a single member as of 1st July. If his birthday is 2nd July, he will continue under the family membership until 30th June the following year. Then he renews as a single.

Motion proposed by Al Stubbings. Seconded by Laurie Wickes. Carried.

    Bylaw 4

    Committee Meeting #0051 8/3/18

The committee shall, at its discretion, invite any financial member to attend a committee meeting should that member show good cause to. The committee also requires the Events Co-ordinator and to a lesser extent, the Membership Officer to attend monthly committee meetings, however, they also shall have the right to attend meetings on an “as needed” basis.

Both, the Events Coordinator & the Membership Officer, shall have full voting rights on matters pertaining to their designated portfolios when present at a committee meeting.

By creating this bylaw, more effective communication between all parties will occur, resulting in more efficient transfer of information to the general membership of the club.

The AMHCC has a duty of care to look after the wellbeing of its members. This policy aims to minimise the risk of ill effects to all members in the event of hot weather and extreme weather. EXTREME WEATHER POLICY The Club advises that if the advertised Adelaide temperature for the day of any event being staged is 37 deg. or greater, then the planned event will be cancelled. Likewise if the day is declared a “Catastrophic Fire Warning” day for the event destination, then the planned event will also be cancelled. Should storms/rain etc. be forecast, then the event cancellation will be at the discretion of the Event Co-ordinator. Individuals may choose to opt-out from attending a run at any time if the weather forecast is outside of their personal comfort range. Dave Berry sent a pamphlet from Cowley’s Pie Cart; “I have enjoyed many Pie Floaters in Adelaide and would like to share this pamphlet, which came to me through family. I hope one day to return and to still find a Pie-cart.” Sorry Dave, no pie carts left on the streets of Adelaide any more. Villi’s have an occasional pie cart some nights on the way to the footy, otherwise all gone. There have been some attempts to get a pie cart going again but so far no luck!

Run Report - The Collectors Run

"THE COLLECTORS RUN" TUESDAY 23rd JULY

The starting point at the Willunga Rose Garden was cool and misty, but

after a hot cuppa, perusing the running sheet, collecting gold (gold

sweets) in the rose garden, the clouds were moving on. With the promise

of a prize at the finish line we all departed via Stroud & McMurtrie Roads,

collecting various items and not forgetting to acknowledge the police

cars. After more collecting in McLaren Vale, we then moved on to Moana

Beach. (Who turned right at Seaford??)

Excellent ocean views along the Esplanade to Port Noarlunga, Just had to

stop and check a reef exposed at very low tide.

Next stop the new railway bridge spanning the wetlands, where we had

to guess the length of the span. After much debate amongst the group,

and tinkering with smart phones, we moved on, checking some roadside

trash for the elusive "peg", then on to the Old Noarlunga Hotel where the

mystery was revealed. Very good trick Kay. An excellent venue, meals,

    and company.

    Well done Laurie & Kay.
