St Brigid’s News S T B R I G I D ’ S S C H O O L / Y S G O L S A N T E S F F R A I D , D E N B I G H Dear Parents/Carers As the examinations approach we would like to offer some hints to you as parents and to pupils to make sure pupils are prepared but not overly stressed during this time. Below are the hints and tips that are recognized to work! Pupils: Give yourself enough time to study. Don't leave it until the last minute. Organize your study space. Practice on old exam papers. Explain your answers to others. Take regular breaks. Snack on 'brain food'. Parents: Encourage and support your child/ren. Limit their use of social media during revision sessions—don’t let them get distracted by Snapchat! Make sure they get enough sleep. Try to focus on the positive during exam time, if an exam hasn’t gone well, try to make them move on and focus on the next one instead. Encourage healthy eating. We wish all of our pupils success and we will help any way we can. Blessed are those who can tell a mountain from a molehill; they will be saved a lot of bother. Blessed are those who know how to relax without looking for excuses; they are on the way to becoming wise. Blessed are those who know when to be quiet and listen; they will learn a lot of new things. Blessed are those who are sane enough not to take themselves too seriously; they will be valued by those about them. Happy are you if you can take small things seriously, and face serious things calmly; you will go far in life. Happy are you if you can appreciate a smile and forget a frown; you will walk on the sunny side of the street. Happy are you if you can be kind in understanding the atti- tudes of others; you may be taken for a fool, but this is the price of charity. Happy are you if you know when to hold your tongue and smile; the Gospel has begun to seep into your heart. Blessed are they who think before acting and pray before thinking; they will avoid many blunders. Above all, Blessed are those who recognise the Lord in all whom they meet; the light of truth shines in their lives – they have found true wisdom.
