Where Are All The New Tickets ???
Ron Moermond, our US Scratch ticket compiler, does a fantastic job! When you view the Lotologist Monthly Newsletter, the instant ticket update list is always there. This is not magic, but simply due to Ron’s hard work. Considering how many tickets are issued each month, it’s quite a task to keep up with the job of regularly compiling the list with accuracy. YOU can help to make his job a little easier. When you’re out collecting new tickets be sure to pick one up for Ron. He appreciates receiving scratched and samples of each ticket issued. DO NOT assume someone else will send him these new tickets. Take the responsibility yourself and send him what you find. This will make his job easier and at the same time help everyone in the hobby with a more complete listing of new tickets each month. So, come on all you Lotologists! Get out there and find those new tickets and take a moment to send them to Ron. His address is: Ron Moermond ( #384 )

Editor’s Desk This month’s cover is about lighthouses. In early May I received an email from Leslie Russell of Buffalo, New York. She found a few tickets and wondered what to do with them. Two were particularly interesting to me, primarily because I didn’t have images of either one on file! They were from the New York set NY-0078 and depicted the twin towers and the Montauk Lighthouse. I believe NY-0078-A is the only ticket ever issued that depicts the World Trade Center. NY-0078-E took a bit of research to find out that it is the Montauk Point Lighthouse. If you visit lotology.net
and click on the thumbnail, you’ll find a link to a lighthouses website that provides a wealth of history about this lighthouse, and many others. You can see the names of the people who kept the lighthouses alive. This one in particular goes back to the early 1800’s. Enter ‘lighthouse’ in the search box on lotology.net and you can see that I am missing a LOT of lighthouse tickets! If you have any of these I would sure like to hear from you and arrange a way I could borrow them to scan.

Letters to the Editor
Dear Mr. Davis, 4/27/2015
I have been a member of GLCS for quite a few
years and have really enjoyed it. Met a lot of great people via snail mail and have done a lot of trading.
Here are two items from Maine you may be interested in. The square one I call a display card. It shows what games are available. I have them as far back as 1999. All same size and only one card if a set is issued. I also have older ones that are smaller, cardboard and not colored. Unfortunately most were taped to windows and bear tape remnants and on some one side is sun-bleached top different shades.
The other item is like a “Play Gimme 5” business card. I only have a few of these from recent games. Hope you enjoy these. Take Care David Borque Thanks David ! David can be reached at: David Borque 323 Augusta Rd. Winslow, ME 04901

President’s Message
What a wonderful hobby we are all involved in. There is never a shortage of what to collect each month. The lottery tickets and the friendship that brings us together are great. Just about every day there is another lottery envelope in my mailbox waiting for me. It’s like getting a surprise gift several times a week. Don’t forget the GLCS Hall of Fame! You still have time to submit your nomination. See the May 2015 issue of Lotologist Monthly for details. Lotovention is only a few weeks away! Boxes of tickets are piling up in my garage, but I have plenty of room for more. In past years your support has been fantastic. Let’s continue this by sending me any extra tickets you have in your collections. Over the past year, the Lotologist Monthly contained 14 articles about the Passive Tickets issued by various states from 1964 to 1987. A total of 396 different tickets were issued with 9146 possible varieties of issue dates. It’s a real collector’s challenge to find at least one variety of each ticket. To get one of each different date is nearly an impossible task. However, being an avid collector, I keep trying. If any of you have any extras of these passive tickets, send them along to me.
