Sacrificial Giving

A recent Devotion reading pointed out that one of the won-drous features of God’s teaching on “Giving” seems backwards from our everyday experiences. According to the Bible, God says we get what we need by serving others, and we get more by giv-ing more. In other words, some-one who gives freely gets more. But someone who withholds from giving gets even less or poorer. This logic can be confus-ing and makes no sense because it seems that the more we give away, the less we will have; and the more we save up to keep, the more we will gain for ourselves. It has been proven time and time again that the more we give, the more we receive. Proverbs 11:24-25 (GNB), “Some people spend their money freely and still grow richer. Others are cautious, and yet grow poorer. Be generous, and you will be prosperous. Help others, and you will be helped.” Our service to others and giv-ing are important to God. We must remember that our God is a God of abundance. Elijah and the Zarephath’s widow (I Kings 17:8-16) and The Widow’s mite (Luke21:1-4) are examples of true sacrifice because they gave in faith all that they had. God is faithful to see that all of our needs are met as well as some of our wants when we obey His principles on serving and giving. I Samuel 15:22 “…Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice…”

An example to follow.... Luke 5:35-36 states, “But love your enemies, do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in re-turn; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High. For He is kind to the unthankful and evil. Therefore be merciful, just as your Father also is merciful.” I'm reminded of being in high school taking an Algebra 2 class, this was the only class throughout my high school tenure that I loved to go to. The reason I enjoyed the class so much was that my teacher gave great examples to the problems we were working on. Once the example was given I was able to use it as a pattern to get the answer to a problem. In life we will go through problems, but be en-couraged we have s great ex-ample to follow, He is Jesus Christ, He is our pattern to follow. Jesus gives us real life examples in the Bible, turn the other cheek, pray for your ene-mies, these maybe hard prob-lems to get right but we have a great example who always got it right, HIS NAME IS JE-SUS!!! So when problem aris-es our teacher will lead us in way we should go!

Christian Youth Ministry

A young woman went to her mother and told

her things were hard and she did not know how she was going to make it and wanted to give up. Her mother took her to the kitch-en. In three separate pots she placed carrots, eggs, and ground coffee beans. In about twenty minutes she fished the carrots and eggs out and placed them in bowls. Then she ladled the coffee out and placed it in a bowl. She asked the girl, “what do you see?" "Carrots, eggs, and coffee," she replied. On closer examination, the girl noted the carrots were soft and mushy, the egg had become hard boiled and the coffee was rich dark and flavorful. There is a timeless lesson in this story. Each item faced the same adversity, the boiling water, but each reacted differently. The car-rots went from hard and strong to weak and mushy like a Christian with no conviction. The eggs were changed from pliable to hard and unyielding, like a Christian who has lost their empathy for sinners. The ground coffee beans were not changed by their situa-tion. They changed their environ-ment instead. They colored and flavored the water. "When adver-sity knocks on your door, how do you respond? Are you a carrot, an egg, or a coffee bean? Matt 5:13 “You are the salt of the earth. But if salt loses its flavor, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything except to be thrown out and tram-pled on by people.

Are You

A Wise Builder?

Every wise woman buildeth her house: ...

Proverbs 14:1

In order to build your house, you must be “fit to build.” Here are some tips that will help you get in shape for the task:

Your heart must be condi-tioned to the things of God. Let Him be your Strength Coach.

Let go of past hurts, situa-tions or circumstances, they hinder the building process.

Don’t try to build a “cookie cutter” house. Your house is unique.

You must have the proper tools (Prayer & The Word of God.)

Stay in the work area that you are assigned to (you are not the Master Build-er.)

Spend time with the Mas-ter Builder. He knows the plans that He has for you

Following these tips will promote a strong and healthy home. So purpose in your heart to build your house. See you at our next session on: Saturday, February, 13th, at 9:00AM. Our topic will be “Loving Him!”

Hi Church family, due to unforeseen problems with my laptop I will not be able to bore you with the last two categories of which you may have found yourself in on how to Evan-gelize. I know that just breaks your heart so I will give them to you the next time around so you can stop cry-ing. Smile. I would like to thank Detec-tive Grace for joining the Outreach team. He was so thrilled to be a part of the staff and we had a great time this past third Saturday. As you already know, Matthew 28:19 in the Bible states Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations etc., and Detective Grace did just that with all of his heart. Thank you so much Brother Grace for being obedient to GODs Word. For you all that don't know the Women's Prison has not allowed us to come and minister to them do to a lack of prison security for the last couple of months so if there are people looking for a job the prison system has a big turn over and are seeking help at most, if not all, prison facilities. On that know I am seeking people that will be willing to pray and fast for some of the individuals that frequent the Food Bank Ministry. This way you can be a part of the Evangelism/Outreach Ministry by just praying for people from your home. I would still request that you attend the meetings on third Saturday just to pick up your list and have Com-munion with the rest of the staff. I be-lieve that another Church had the job and decided to stop doing it and I thought it would be a job for NPGBC and will allowed people that have in-formed me of their wanting to be a part of the staff but for some reasons could-n't do one of the other Ministries so here is a chance to be obedient and get points in Heaven as well. You know fasting is a part of our Church practice, so don't be alarmed; you don't have to overdo it. Maybe stop yakking on the phone for a few hours/days. Smile. Until next time Go.
