·-==· ==-t':t· Dear Lima Campus Student,

The winter storms that hit the region greatly affected blood collections in the area. A number of drives were cancelled, closed early or saw decreased collections due to poor travel conditions and winter weather.

There is currently less than a 48 hour supply of blood. All healthy, eligible donors are asked to help boost the blood supply and prevent a more serious shortage by donating blood.

The Lima Campus is hosting an American Red Cross blood drive in the Cook Hall Gymnasium on Wednesday, February 9th from 9 AM-3 ·PM. Please register to donate with the Student Activities Office by stopping by GA066, phoning 419-995-8415 , or by email at [email protected].

Thank you for your commitment to helping ensure that a safe and continuous blood supply is available for local patients in need.

Campus Safety

Now that the days are shorter, more students are leaving campus after dark. It is important that students remember these crime prevention tips provided by campus security:

• Don't walk alone, especially at night. • Park in well-lit areas. • A void parking next to large vehicles, as they

will decrease your ability to see the area around you.

• Use public walkways. • Be aware of your surroundings. • Walk in well-lit areas avoiding bushes,

alleys, etc ... • Wear clothing that gives you freedom of

movement. • Always lock your car doors. • Have your keys in hand when approaching

your vehicle. • Always check the back seat before entering

your car.

Campus security makes every effort to help insure your safety by providing a well-lit and frequently patrolled environment. However, crimes do occasionally still occur. You can help insure your personal safety by following the above strategies.

In addition, campus escorts are available to those who do not feel comfortable leaving campus alone during the evening hours . To arrange an escort to your vehicle, call security at 419-995-8499 or X8499 from a campus phone.

Remember, if you observe anything suspicious, call Campus Security immediately at 419-995-8499. This is a free call from all campus phones!
