RISD gladly donates facilities and facilities use services for each scheduled Water- Fire and assists the organization in any way possible. Facilities adopted the park known as the Riverwalk and provides maintenance and repair services to the area for the benefit of the community. In exchange, the Parks Department allows special RISD activities in Market Square and areas along the river. http://cityof.providenceri.com/parks-and-rec WORKING WITH THE COMMUNITY PLANNED SUMMER PROJECTS Renovations to the lIlustration Building begin this summer with the restoration of all 99 windows. A 5-8 year phased renovation project is planned to include a five-story addition on the east side of the building. The addition will house a new code-compliant stairway, an elevator with handicapped accessibility and restrooms. It will be located at the rear of the existing building, set back from the main street to the north and with a minimum footprint. Each floor will be gut-renovated for better efficiency and code compliance.
