2010 MACALESTER VOLLEyBALL TEAM
Honorable Mention All-America
Coach Annie DomanNew head volleyball coach Annie Doman comes to Macal-ester from Carroll University in Waukesha, Wisconsin, where she served as head coach for the past five years.
At Carroll, Doman rebuilt a last-place Midwest Conference team and guided the Pioneers to the 2007 MWC conference and conference tourney champion-ship and the program’s first-ever berth in the NCAA playoffs. She was selected by her peers as Midwest Conference Coach of the Year following the 2006 and 2007 campaigns. At Carroll, she was also the senior woman administrator and the director of recreation sports.
“I am excited to be part of the Macalester community and its strong academic and athletic traditions,” said Doman. “I look forward to the challenge of leading the Scots volleyball program.”
Doman grew up in Milwaukee, starred at Pius XI High School, and attended NCAA Division I Austin Peay State (Tenn.), where she was the starting setter for four seasons and graduated cum laude in 2001 with a degree in special education. She was team captain as a junior and senior and finished with 4,885 career assists. Doman, formerly Annie Glieber, finished as the school’s all-time leader in assists, and in her senior season she led the NCAA with eight triple doubles and was named honorable mention All-Ohio Valley Conference.
While completing her master of science degree in physical education/exercise and sport science at the University of Central Missouri, Doman served under legendary Division II head coach Peggy Martin from 2003 to 2005 before taking charge of the Carroll program in 2005.
