Spellings each week will be 24 words covering each one of the Year 3/4 and 5/6 spelling rules as a dictaon test on Fridays. Reading: Read “The Firework Maker’s Daughter” and “Running on the Roof of the World” as a class. Wring : Using the texts and our topics as inspiraon, children will complete a variety of wrien work including narraves, explanaons, interviews, diaries and instrucons. Children will look at 20 different sentence structures and try to incorporate some into their wring. They will look at how to edit and improve their wring . Geography Our topic is Volcanoes, Earthquakes and Climate. Children will learn what a volcano is, how they are formed, where they are in the world, which are the most acve and much more… Earthquakes and Climate will be covered in the second half of the term. Science Our Science topic is Electricity. Children will draw on their previous knowledge to plan and present a scienfic enquiry to create a working fesve lights decoraon. They will: compare and give reasons for variaons in how components funcon, including the brightness of bulbs, the loudness of buzzers and the on/off posion of switches, plan scienfic invesgaons to answer quesons, use recognised symbols in a simple circuit diagram, recognise and control variables, take measurements, use a range of scienfic equipment and record data and results using tables, scaer, bar and line graphs. This work will connue into the second half of the term. P.E Opportunity to do Bikeability Level 2 Daily Mile. Shrewsbury Town coaches—games on Thursdays.
