the answer:There are differing opinions on this topic. Many lenders will tell you to close at the end of the month so that you have to pay less in per diem interest for the money borrowed from the bank. However, if the extra cash out of pocket is not the biggest concern I would recommend closing at a slower time of the month as your lender and closing attorney will not be as busy. This will help in getting you the closing date and time you want and should make the whole process less stressful. Of course, if you are a cash buyer then timing is not a big issue, but I would still pick a time of the month other than the end so as to not be caught up with those getting loans.
