experience to the invitees By Indrani Basu
Around 450 members from different coopera-tive housing societies
located at various nodes in Kharghar Panvel, Taloja joined in the
webinar conducted on Sunday regarding Deemed Convey-ance. The event
was organized and conducted by Mr. Mangesh Ranawade, Chairman
MAHASEWA, Navi Mumbai Chapter and also the Chairman of Kharghar –
Taloja Colonies Welfare association. The objective of the webinar
was to guide and educate the represen-tatives of the respective
cooperative housing societies to acquire conveyance
certificate.
“It is vital to acquire conveyance or deemed con-veyance and
have the land named after their society,” told Ranawade. He added,
“There are nearly 9500 housing societies in Navi Mumbai and more
than 40% are old and need to go into redevelopment. It is vital to
acquire conveyance because failing to do so, a housing society
cannot go under redevelopment. There are several documents which
are required to apply for deemed conveyance. In the webinar our
experts informed about the required formalities the societies shall
have to fulfill to apply for a deemed conveyance.”
Maharashtra Government has declared a special drive from 1st
January to 15th January2021 appealing societies to apply for
conveyance of their premises. The invitees came to know about the
facts, procedures of applying for getting conveyance, their doubts
and the concepts were cleared by the experts Dr. Kedari Jadav, the
Joint Registrar of cooperative Society, Be-lapur and Ramesh Prabhu,
CA, the Chairman of MA-HASEWA.
The expert informed, “A Conveyance Deed is a legal document of
ownership right over the property whether it is land or Building.
It is a document de-signed to transfer the property ownership right
from Developer /builder to the society. For getting this, the
members of a housing society located at Navi Mum-bai have to submit
the required documents to the Joint Registrar Office of Raigad to
get the order.”
They added ,“Builders unnecessary delay in pro-viding or refrain
from giving Conveyance in hopes of increased FSI that they could
avail in the future or simply because they are negligent in
following the mandatory procedure.”

Kharghar, who joined in the webinar told, “It was a very
informative session. As we have been staying in CIDCO flats, we
have many doubts regarding redevelopments. The experts conveyed

This new year let us be hopeful. Hope is a very small word but
with a great power. Just like being optimis-tic, being hopeful also
creates a positivity in us. With hope, we can always visualise
our-selves to be happy and this visualisation changes our way of
being.
The way in which hopeful per-son handle the adverse situation is
very different from those who are not hopeful.
"Hope is a seed that you so ev-eryday. It is not necessary that
you will get to fruit immediately but keep watering it with faith
& one day you will surely reap what you wished"
Hope gives us the strength to find our disappointments. It
drives us to the path of expectation that there will be good
happening in future. Even if the present circumstances are not very
favourable, giving a thought of hope, that the future will be
better can really buffer are stress and can reduce the negativity
level.
We can consider hope in any of the ways. We can take it as an
emo-tion or we can feel it as a motivating factor.
In any case there are certain situations that are beyond our
con-trol. We can do nothing about them. So the best option we have
is to be hopeful. Hoping good will definitely not change the
situation but it will surely make us strong enough to face that
particular situation in a positive way and to reassure ourselves
that this tough time will pass soon. Hope helps us to anticipate a
good futur-istic life and influences us to handle our present.
A powerful hope helps us to an-ticipate a limitlessly positive
version of our future.
The researchers have examined that if we are hopeful in our
life,
we tend to have a bet-ter physical and mental health. We can
help ourselves in staying away from problems like depression and
anxiety.
In order to feel hopeful, we can listen to some motivational
speeches we can engage ourselves in some religious and spiritual
ac-tivities.
Ultimately, we are human be-ings. So is not always possible to
be hopeful. There are times when we tend to lose hope. Irrespective
of all our efforts there will often be hur-dles in the way, which
will threaten our hope. Unfavourable things do
happen. But we shouldn't feel as if all the doors are closed. We
should keep up our willpower. We should keep finding options that
lead to our goals.
Being hopeful changes the way we see the things and helps us to
work in a positive and energetic manner. It helps us to make the
best use of our current circumstances.
Remember that when we can't do much about an existing situation,
wecan always face it with the belief that there is surely something
that we can do about it and we can make our life easier. Hope can
be a motivation for us to work in a direction that can make things
better and working on it can fuel even more hope.
There is always a way! Be Hope-ful!(The author is PgD (guidance

ling), M.Sc (Counselling)

The athletes and sports enthusiasts are highly perturbed by the

To ensure that the youngsters of Rabale get a playground,
Rishikesh Wankhede, an activist, met the commissioner of the Navi
Mumbai Municipal Corpora-tion (NMMC), Abhijit Bangar and urged
him
to allot a playground through the Maharashtra Industrial
Development Corporation (MIDC) and handed over a letter in this
regard.
Speaking to News-band, Rishikesh Wankhede said, “Ward No. 19 and
20 of Rabale is a slum node in MIDC. The children of this wards
come from financially weaker background and hence cannot offer
pri-vate sports facilities”.
There are play-grounds or open gyms in all the nodal areas in
Navi Mumbai. But there is nothing in ward no 19 and 20, he
stressed.
He further said, “The MIDC administration have sold acres of
land to companies. But to fulfill the needs of the citizens is also
the duty of NMMC and MIDC. Hence, they should pro-vide playground
in these wards at the earliest”.

Seema started the initiative in 2018 with an aim to spread

bird kite at Uran in Navi Mumbai was rescued by birder Parag Gharat

informed re-gional forest officer S.A. Kadam. They rescued the
injured bird and took it to the Uran veterinary hospital.
Post treatment, Parag said, “I will take care of the bird for a
day today and release it in a safe zone tomorrow.”

Though the awareness about con-servation of forests and their
environment at large has percolated deep down in the society with
the governmental and non-governmen-tal organizations vying with
each other to take a lead in the field, yet a lot needs to be done.
Navi Mumbai too through its development authori-ties- CIDCO and
NMMC does come out with programmes or drives for tree plantation.
However, though the spirit for these drives is right but as regards
its implementation, more hype is being created than the con-crete
implementation of these pro-grammes. Going by the statistics be-ing
provided, Navi Mumbai should have had a very thick forest cover by
now. The ground reality is unfor-tunately contrary to these
statistics, which indicates that either the statis-tics is wrong or
no feedback or mon-itoring post plantation care is being done on
the part of the authorities. There seems to be no accountabil-ity
for the huge money being spent on such drives, which at least so
far have not yielded any fruitful result.
Over the years the forest cover has been uniformly reducing. The
green jungles full of life are being cut mercilessly and are being
re-placed by concrete jungles in the process of unmindful
urbaniza-tion, which is disturbing the sensi-
tive ecological balance created by nature. The climatic
conditions are changing for worse and in a way by cutting trees we
are literally clos-ing the oxygen plants provided by nature
although knowing quite well that the oxygen is one of the vital
re-quirements for survival of life. Simi-larly, in the coastal
areas, especially in Mumbai and Navi Mumbai, inci-dences of
unmindful destroying of mangroves vital for ecological bal-ance are
regularly being reported. In a haste to bring in more and more land
under development, the man-groves are being destroyed and ille-gal
reclamation of land is being car-ried out. This is adversely
disturbing the aquatic life.
Lot of authorities like CIDCO, NMMC, Forest Department,
Pollu-tion Control Board have been creat-ed to control pollution.
However, all these departments should be made jointly responsible
for addressing this grave concern for the very ex-istence of the
human civilization. This is not only to be limited to the
government organizations. The non governmental organizations and
ev-ery citizen of the country will have to continue in their own
way in pre-serving the environment, in particu-larly the trees, to
ensure that this hu-man civilization does not get wiped out by its
own acts.

NCP. Earlier former standing committee chairman and BJP corporator
Navin Gavte, corporator Apar-na Gavte and Dipa Gavte joined
Shiv-Sena in the presence of Shiv-Sena Chief and Maharashtra Chief

former corporators Vaib-hav Gaikwad and Divya Gaikwad quit BJP
and joined NCP in the pres-ence of NCP Supremo, Sharad Pawar.
The NCP party se-nior leaders like Sharad Pawar and Ajit Pawar
welcomed both Vaibhav Gaikwad and Divya Gai-kwad in NCP fold.
Vaibhav Gaikwad said, “I had contested the 2010 NMMC elec-tion
under the symbol
of Nationalist Congress Party and later my wife, Divya Vaibhav
Gaikwad stood for 2015 NMMC election. We both won with a thumping
major-ity. Now, once again we have decided to stand with the
Nationalist Congress Party for the upcoming NMMC elec-tion. We will
continue to follow the principles of a democratic secular
society."
"We have been the staunch supporter of
Ganesh Naik, but from the last few months, our views are not
getting heard by the senior lead-ers. When educated cor-porators
raise voice and ask the administration to do the work in our ward

house. Hence, we finally decid-ed to join the same NCP party from
which we had won the NMMC elec-tions in 2010 and 2015."

are and protect the biodiversity of the area, Kumar said.
There have been sev-eral complaints against the burial of
wetlands for infrastructure proj-ects, he recalled and ex-pressed
the hope that the recent intervention of the Chief Minister and
Envi-ronment Minister would have positive results in
the interest of the envi-ronment.
Kumar appreciated the enthusiasm among the local youths such as
Parag to protect birds and wetlands. In fact, Parag had earlier
noticed chopping of mangroves at Panje and alerted the
authorities.
A demand by envi-ronmentalists to con-serve Panje wetland as a
Bird Sanctuary has been pending action from the Government. CM
Ud-dhav Thackeray has re-ferred the issue to the environment

While the state of Maharashtra is taking adequate precau-tions
in the backdrop of new corona virus strain found in the UK, the
central government will be asked to quarantine such passengers at
the airports where they will land, considering the flow of
passengers ar-riving in Maharashtra from abroad, said Chief
Minister of Maharash-tra, Uddhav Thackeray, while reviewing the

After reviewing the preparations for vac-cination, CM said that
all those who are vac-cinated should be moni-tored for any adverse
side effects and should be given timely treat-ment. “A task
force-like mechanism should be set up to guide the treat-ing
doctors,” he said. Mr. Thackeray also sug-gested that
vaccination
should be done only in health institutions.

Sec-retary, Department of Health. Pradip Vyas pre-sented the

The vigilance squad of the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation
(NMMC) has fined over 20,000 people from the satellite city from
April till December, 2020 for violating various Covid 19 rules. A
fine to the tune of Rs 1 crores have been collected from them.
The fines have been levied for vari-ous offences like not
wearing masks and for not maintaining social distanc-es at public
places. Penalties were also imposed for spitting in public places.
The civic body, apart from the regu-lar mobile squads, also
deployed eight special squads for the crackdown.
NMMC Chief Abhijit Bangar said, "The action has been taken by
the ward level anti nuisance squads, which were supported by the
special vigilance teams formed in all the eight
wards. Belapur ward re-corded the highest num-ber of offences in
terms of both cases and penalty amount. Digha ward was at the
bottom of the table with regards to both- the number of cases as
well as fine collection."
Bangar further add-ed, "The civic body's aim
is not to collect the fines but to ensure that the citizens
abide by the Covid-19 protocols. We have been launch-ing several
initiatives to make people aware about importance of following
Covid-19 protocols so that the cases of Covid-19 do not increase in
the city, but there are some miscreants who even after several
reminders, do not follow the rules and hence the squads have to be
strict with them. The fines worth Rs 1 crore collected from the
Covid-19 violators will be used for the developmental work of the
city."

With an aim to curb and control illegal erection of bill boards
and the banners, the Panvel City Municipal Corporation (PCMC) razed
down an illegal billboard and hoarding of Ashtavinayak Hospi-tal
that was placed near CIDCO public garden in Khandha Colony on 4th
January, 2021.
There had been few complaints as well as demand by the residents
to file a case against the hospital administration for erecting
illegal bill-boards.
The Ashtavinayak Hospital in Khandha colony had put up a large
billboard in the CIDCO garden near the hospital. The issue of
il-legal encroachment by Ashtavinayak Hospital
was raised by the press committee of Panvel Ta-luka which then
started compiling the list of various billboards erect-ed illegally
in the Panvel municipal area.
Keval Mahadik, a volunteer from the com-mittee said, "The civic
body should take stern
action against illegal encroachments of public places. The move
will deter others from plac-ing or erecting banners and bill boards
illegal-ly.”
The Hospital had put up a large billboard
on the compound wall of CIDCO Park, and no permission had been
given from CIDCO or the corporation in this regard. Now, four days
ago, after the issue came up for discussion, the hospital
administration moved to the corpora-tion for permission.
However, neither the corporation nor CIDCO gave permission to
the hospital. On the other hand, taking into ac-count the demands
of the journalists, action was taken against this hospital.
