The beautiful town of San Cristobal de las Casas in Chiapas, has more than five centuries of history and has been sheltered by nature which makes this Mexican region a stunning place.

The city was founded in 1528 by Diego de Mazariegos when the viceroyalty was established and its name honors the bishop Fray Bartolome de las Casas, defender of the Indians during the sixteenth century. Currently the temples are still kept showing the encounter of two cultures to merge into a new homeland, so San Cristobal preserves its squares, cobblestone streets, red tiled roofs, and traditional market almost like they used to be hundreds of years ago.

For example, the Cathedral of San Cristobal is a place

where a photograph must be taken, as its historical legacy based on the principles of religious faith lasts to this day: it was built in 1535 and it keeps the famous current facade of purely baroque style since the eighteenth century. Likewise, the Temple of Santo Domingo stands out; whose main characteristics are its huge mortar facade of rich ornaments.

The Agua Azul Waterfall is part of the tourist places in San Cristobal de las Casas and its exceptional beauty helps us understand why the ancient Mexicans chose to live in this beautiful region. Also, the ruins of the Temple of Inscriptions in Palenque, that reflect the respect that such civilization had for the nature as well as the prodigious advances in science and architecture.

El bello poblado de San Cristóbal de las Casas, en Chiapas, da cuenta de más de cinco siglos de historia además de estar cobijado por la naturaleza que hace de aquella región mexicana un lugar deslumbrante.

Y destaca de igual manera el Templo de Santo

Domingo, cuyas principales características son su gigantesca fachada de argamasa de ricos adornos.

Como parte de los otros turísticos de San Cristóbal de las Casas, está la Cascada Agua Azul, de una belleza excepcional que permite entender por qué los antiguos mexicanos eligieron vivir en esa hermosa región; o las ruinas del Templo de las Inscripciones, en Palenque, que reflejan el respeto que aquella civilización tenía por la naturaleza, así como prodigiosos avances en ciencia y arquitectura.

Arturo Vega de Lamadrid aspires to achieve the dream that will represent his personal consolidation for the land that has given him so much: to become the next Governor of Baja California.

To do this, the native of Sonora gained a lot of experience in public service, where he began his career almost 25 years ago, the same period that he has remained as a member of the party that he currently represents: the National Action which promoted him as a candidate for the coalition of United for Baja California, in alliance with the parties of the Democratic Revolution (PRD), New Alliance and State of Baja California (PEBC).

As the entire country is watching this part of the Mexican territory due to the recent problems that represented the so-called “digital switchover” in late May in the city of Tijuana, Vega de Lamadrid as well as his other contenders: Fernando Castro Trenti for the coalition of Commitment for Baja California (PRI-PT-PVEM) and Felipe Ruanova Zárate (Citizen Movement) will certainly have some challenges to solve. Our character has increasingly been acknowledged as a reliable person and due to this fact, he has gained the confidence from the voters that have seen his performance through several departments in which he has held important positions. In addition, he has demonstrated another of his great virtues over the time: perseverance. After having been dismissed twice for the same position (in 2001 against Eugenio Elorduy and in 2007 against the outgoing President Jose Guadalupe Osuna Millán), he had the opportunity to get the position.

Francisco was only six years old when he and his family arrived at state where he aims to continue working, and it was here where- in addition to spending his childhood and youth- he acquired his entire school education and developed his values and principles. He graduated in Business Administration at the Center for Technical and Higher Education (CETYS) in Mexicali.

, is committed to continuing a career that has been marked for always working close to the people, of his party and is that with the support of the society he has managed to get where he is.

His ideal has always been to give back to the border Peninsula all what he has achieved at the age of 58 years old. De alma cien por ciento bajacaliforniana y toda una vida dedicada al servicio en beneficio de los habitantes de esta región que lo adoptó como suyo, Francisco Arturo

Vega de Lamadrid aspira a alcanzar el sueño que representará su consolidación personal por la tierra que le ha dado tanto: convertirse en el próximo Gobernador de Baja California.

Para ello, el oriundo de Sonora debió de hacerse de una gran experiencia en el servicio público, en donde inició su trayectoria hace casi 25 años, mismo periodo en el que ha permanecido afiliado al partido que actualmente representa: el Acción Nacional, instituto que lo postuló como candidato de gobierno por la coalición Unidos por Baja California, en alianza con los partidos de la Revolución Democrática (PRD), Nueva Alianza y Estatal de Baja California (PEBC).

Con esta parte del territorio mexicano en la mira de todo el país debido a la reciente problemática que representó el llamado “apagón analógico” a finales del mes de mayo en la ciudad de Tijuana, tanto Vega de Lamadrid como sus otros contendientes: Fernando Castro Trenti por la coalición Compromiso por Baja California (PRI-PT-PVEM) y Felipe Ruanova Zárate (Movimiento Ciudadano), sin duda tendrán grandes retos por resolver.

Sin embargo, nuestro personaje tiene ya un vasto historial con el cual se ha ido ganando la confianza del electorado que ha sido testigo de su desempeño a través de las distintas dependencias en las que ha ocupado importantes cargos. Por si fuera poco, el tiempo lo ha llevado a demostrar otra de sus grandes virtudes: la perseverancia, pues, luego de haber sido descartado en dos ocasiones para este mismo puesto (en 2001 contra Eugenio Elorduy y en 2007 contra el mandatario saliente, José Guadalupe Osuna Millán), lo consiguió en su tercera oportunidad.

Con apenas seis años de edad, Francisco llegó junto con su familia a la entidad por la cual aspira seguir trabajando, y fue aquí en donde -además de pasar su infancia y juventud- desarrolló toda su formación académica y de valores, pues se graduó como Licenciado en Administración de Empresas en el Centro de Enseñanza Técnica y Superior (CETYS), en Mexicali. Arraigando dentro de sí el ideal de que es tiempo de remunerar a la península fronteriza todo lo que ha conseguido a sus 58 años de edad, se ha comprometido fielmente a dar continuidad a una carrera en la que se ha caracterizado por trabajar siempre cercano a la gente, bajo la firme convicción humanista de su partido y plenamente consciente de que es gracias al apoyo de la sociedad que ha conseguido llegar hasta donde está.

// Originally from Soledad, near the capital of San Luis Potosi, the “Potosinas Enchila-das” is a typical Mexican dish that characterizes such beautiful region. They are pre-pared as follows: the guajillo chili is deveined, cooked and mashed with garlic, it should be mixed with the tortilla dough and salt, grind the chili with the least possible amount of water. Prepare the tomato sauce with cooked serrano chilies (this sauce should look like molcajete sauce) and add the grated cheese to form a paste-like consistency. Make small tortillas with the dough and cooked them on the griddle only on one side, the side that is not cooked is filled with the paste and its edge is closed so that the paste and cheese mix. Put the tortillas back on the griddle for a minute, without browning them, then fry them in butter or oil, place them on a plate with refried beans, onions, guaca-mole or avocado slices and enjoy them.
