• He was born on the 23 r d of February 1967. Vladimir began to go in for sport at 10

• The first success came to him at 13. It was the Championship of Altai Krai, where he was the third • He set the record of

Altai Krai in long jump with the result of 7.08 metres when Vladimir was in the 10 th form

• At the end of the 10 th form Vladimir went to The Russian National Championship in Nizhny Novgorod and became a champion. His result in triple jump was 14,96 metres

• At the age of 25 Vladimir had to pause his sport career because of the serious foot injury

• At the age of 29 he returned to sport. He became a champion of Siberian People Championship when he was 33.

• After that Vladimir decided to stop his sport career and to train young athletes

• Since that time Vladimir has been taking part in the International Masters Competitions

• A new sport life came when he was 40. He became a champion at the National Masters Championship

• Now Vladimir has a great collection of medals which he won at the Masters competitions

• Now Vladimir is the World and multiple European Masters Champion.

• For his great contribution

to sport Vladimir Pankratov was chosen to carry the fire of Winter Olympic Games 2014 on the territory of Altai Krai like other outstanding Russian
