    Like so many other people, Steve was on the up

    and down cycle o weight loss. He would start

    out on a diet with great hopes only to become

    The holidays are here! And that meansparties, amily gatherings, get-togethers and scrumptious holiday are. I you cringe atthe thought o holiday weight gain, but cant

    My goodness, where

    has this year gone?Its that wonderultime o year again and theholidays are almost upon us.

    The holiday season ociallybegins with Thanksgiving

    at my house. It is my avorite holiday o the year.For many o us it is a time or kicking o ourshoes, relaxing and spending time with amilyand riends as we share in the annual east.

    Yet, I have ound in my work as an emotionalhealth proessional that many people su er deepemotional stress between Thanksgiving andNew Years as a result o the numerous holidaypressures and activities. Some tend to overeator eat the wrong ood, drink too much, holdin eelings and in general they just dont takecare o themselves.

    Theres no doubt that the holidays are stressul all that running around shopping or the perectgit, money pressure rom the extra expenditures,and the possibility o conronting old amilytensions during the holiday estivities.

    More than 76% o North Americansindicate that they experience greatstress during the holiday season.Over the years, I have encouraged my clients toput in place eective deense strategies to oset

    Keep an attitude o gratitudeby journalingAs part o my wellness journey, I keep a dailyjournal that I write in. In one column I listmy prayer requests, in another I list theanswered prayers that I have received, andrecently, I have added a third column whichnow asks the question: Did I thank God andgloriy Him? I want to make sure I take thetime to not only thank Him in advance o theanswer, but I want to also give Him thankswhen going into my new prayer requests.

    Reminding God o all the times He has comethrough or me and my amily not only givesme a boost o added aith, but it allows me toreally give God all the praise He deserves. AsI see those answered prayers come to ruition,my attitude o gratitude goes up another notch!

    VITAMIN C hELPED REDuCE CANCER TuMoR GRoWTh AND SIzE IN MICE

    Washington, DCA new study rom the National Institutes o Health showed that high-dose intravenous injections o Vitamin Chelped reduce cancer tumors in mice. The research, which appeared in the August 2008 Proceedings of the NationalAcademy of Sciences, ocused on mice with brain, ovarian and pancreatic cancers.

    Because the body will only allow a certain amount o Vitamin C to be absorbed when its taken orally, researchersbypassed the digestive system by injecting high doses o Vitamin C into the veins or abdominal cavities o micewith brain, ovarian or pancreatic tumors. Tumor growth and weight was reduced by 41 to 53 percent. Normal cellswere unaected by the Vitamin C.

    Study authors say that more research is needed beore this can be applied to humans; h
