v Assistance dogs are welcome everywhere all year round. v Dogs must keep to hard paths and be on a short lead at all times in the garden. Dogs are welcome in the garden from 4 November 2019 to 2 February 2020 after 1.30pm. You’ll be asked to swap extendable leads for short leads at Visitor reception. v Please clear up after your dog. You’ll find dog waste bins marked on the map and poo bags are available from Visitor reception. Please don’t ‘stick and flick’ or leave bags of dog waste for others to pick up. If you see any visitors that haven’t picked up after their dog, please let a member of staff know. v Please make use of our 10-minute tie- up point if you need to leave your dog unattended to pop to the café or toilet. You’ll find the tie up point next to Visitor reception. v Please don’t leave dogs in cars. Even on a cool day your car can become very hot. If a dog is left in a car and appears distressed our policy is to inform the Police. v We welcome up to three dogs per adult to enjoy the garden. v Dogs must be under close control in the woodland nature reserve. Our definition of ‘close control’ means that a dog responds to commands and is kept close at heel. If your dog is well-trained and comes back when called, they can explore the woodland nature reserve off the lead, but please make sure you all stay on the paths. Please be especially considerate to other visitors. v You and your dog should stay on the paths throughout the woodland nature reserve at all times. This nature rich reserve is home to many mammal and bird species. Even the most well-behaved dogs can endanger or disrupt wildlife. There are areas of Nymans that are farmed, so keeping dogs away from these areas protects livestock from being scared or injured. v Please check before you visit to see if dogs can be included on guided walks and events. You may not be able to take your dog with you on our walks or to special events.
