Every membership should receive a survey in the mail asking for your input on the sale of packaged beer near the restaurant, instituting a food credit, and the sale of staple items out of the restaurant. The survey will explain each item in more detail, so please take the time to fill it out and return to the corporate office. The maintenance department is currently treating for mosquitos and will continue to do so throughout the year to help control the population. Mosquito-borne illnesses include West Nile, Dengue, and Zika. Pregnant women are particularly at risk of Zika, because the virus can cause birth defects in unborn infants. As homeowners, you can also help by keeping grass mowed down, avoid over watering the lawn, change water in wading pools and bird baths, and eliminating any standing water around the home which may include emptying or getting rid of cans, buckets, old tires, pots, plant saucers, and any other container that may hold water. Also, companies like Panhandle Greenhouses and Pro-Chem offer several safe products that can be applied around the home to help control the mosquito population. Steps individuals can take to protect themselves from mosquito bites include insect repellents, wear long sleeve shirts and long pants, keep mosquitoes out with air conditioning or intact window screens, and limit outdoor activities during peak mosquito times. Don’t forget to come join us at the Restaurant. Valerie and her staff are working hard, and the food is great. The daily specials are posted on Facebook and the Sunday brunch is from 9am to 1pm (BEST BREAKFAST IN TOWN – Saturday and Sunday mornings) Community events and important dates to mark on your calendar: • August 25 th – Tailgate party Please be safe and courteous while enjoying the lake! Sincerely, Jeff Baker LSIOT, Inc. General Manager

Hello friends, Just a line or two to say thank you for your support this year.
Most of our scrambles had good to great turnouts. This type of turnout enables us to invest in our course. New trees, new water lines to the back Nine and as I pen this note we are preparing the ground for a new concrete cart path be-tween Seventeen and Eighteen.
Thanks to Joe and his maintenance crew for keeping the course looking good and healthy during this harsh panhandle summer.
Thanks for the businesses for their participation buying adds on the tee box signs. And the folks that sponsor our scrambles.
I probable sound like golf is done for the year. But it’s not, Not at all! Fall personally speaking is the best time to get out and play. Lots of daylight left when we get home from work, or on the weekend. Temperatures are mild, the weather is more stable, and people are nicer because it’s not so dang hot. Ok I’m outa here for now.Be Safe, Healthy and Blessed! Roger D. Turner, President LTGA

LIONS SERVING OTHERS The world’s largest service club organization
Tanglewood had a very successful July 4th celebration. The weather was great and everyone had fun. The Hamburger & Hotdog Cookout raised $3053 and the Ice Cream Feast raised $1218. We would like to thank the volunteers who cooked and served the hamburgers/hotdogs; the food tasted so good. Lions Club members & their wives made gallons & gallons of delicious homemade ice cream. We served from 10 am to 12:15 when we sold out of ice cream. Thanks Lake Tanglewood community residents & friends for supporting our community events. Money raised by the Hamburger & Hotdog goes to the fish restocking for 2018-19. Ice Cream funds will go toward local charities.
