GIS Internal Training

The key purpose of any training is to improve effectiveness and productivity. Everyone needs training

to do their jobs well. Internal training is the process from which employees achieve the skills to perform

their jobs and is an essential part of any successful business. Training is associated with employee

performance and retention.

MicroCenter performed internal training on ArcGIS 1, 2 and 3 which is essential to keep up with changes

to the working and corporate environment. We believe in creating future leaders, with this kind of

informality gives employees some responsibility for their learning.

ArcGIS is GIS (Geographic Information System) software. The latest release of ArcGIS brings new

visualization capabilities, improved enterprise readiness, and incredible new apps. It transforms how

geographic information will be accessed and managed by geographic information system (GIS)

professionals and organizations.

The internal training held at our training center i.e. Micro Training Center (MTC), It is an Esri

authorized learning center in Bahrain. The training is organized for our Marketing and Survey staff

from 5 February until 28 February 2017.

Analytics in GIS Analytics allow you to discover and communicate meaningful patterns in your data. From finding the

best location to making predictions, analytics help you to optimize your decisions.

Understanding and Measuring Places - Most analytics, whether spatial or not, start with asking

questions about the data. The better you understand the data, the more you can learn. With ArcGIS,

you can get even more information by enriching your locations with additional data.

Determining How Places are related - More and more data is being collected, but how can you make

sense of it? Summarizing your data with nearby locations allows you to clearly see and understand the

information.

Finding the Best Locations - Find all the locations that best match your needs. You can identify

locations that meet any criteria using your data's attributes or by using the unique properties of spatial

data, such as the distance or relationship with other places.

Detecting and Quantifying Patterns - Analyze your data to reveal patterns or show areas of

concentrations. Find statistically significant spatial clusters of high values (hot spots) and low values

(cold spots) in your data.

Making Predictions - Predict new information and identify features that are not readily apparent. For

example, estimate the values across a continuous area, using sample values at point locations.

Geocoding - Convert an address or other identifier, such as a landmark or business name, to a

coordinate and save the result to your database record. Reverse geocode coordinates to get a place

name or address, and batch geocode multiple places at the same time. You can do this for over 100

countries around the world.

Directions, Routing, and Logistics - Find the quickest route from point A to point B, or see how much

area you can cover within 30 minutes. Assign many stops to multiple drivers to meet time windows.

From optimizing inspections to sales calls and deliveries, this is how the smartest businesses keep

running on time and on budget.

GIS TRAINING COURSES

ArcGIS 10.5: Transforming Enterprise GIS ArcGIS 10.5 and the ArcGIS Online Update were released in December and as part of this we introduced

a new tier of named user called Level 1 Named User.

Why a New Named User Level?

Many of you have asked for the ability to share private information more broadly with others in your

organization. We realize that you create a lot of valuable information products—analysis results,

dashboards, maps, and more—that others need to view and use in order to make decisions.

This new Level 1 Named User is in addition to the Level 2 Named User (formerly called Named User)

and is a cost-effective way to share those important information products in your organization without

giving up control over what information is seen by whom and how it is used. And all of this is

accomplished using the same sharing workflows that you already have in place.

What Can This New Level 1 Named Users Do?

View private content shared within your organization

Participate in private groups (invitation only)

Access subscription and premium ArcGIS content that is shared as part of a map, scene, or app

Use configured apps (read only)

Access basecamps, search for content, and use geosearch

What Can This New Level 1 Named Users Not Do?

Create any kind of content

Edit or make new map

Share content to their organization or the public

Create groups

Manage other users, groups, or content

Perform analysis
