    Key responsibilities:

    1. Working with colleagues to deliver activities which engage

    blind and partially sighted people to improve their own quality

    of life.

    2. To be proactive in developing a clear referral pathway intoGalloways by liaising with a range of health and social carepartners and community groups.

    3. To carry out an initial assessment which identifies need and

    ensures that Galloways enables people to meet their goals?

    4. To have knowledge and understanding of health, social care

    and welfare benefits relevant to visually impaired people and

    their families.

    5. To keep accurate and up to date confidential records and

    reports and to provide routine monitoring information as

    required.

    6. To attend all meetings and training programmes as requested

    and agreed by Galloways.

    7. To provide specialist information and guidance regarding sightloss to the wider sector and general public.

    8. To work in co-operation with the Fundraising Department in

    order to maximise income generating opportunities for

    Galloways Society for the Blind.

    9. To promote the work of Galloways Society for the Blind, in

    collaboration with colleagues across the organisation.

    10. To ensure the implementation of all policies and proceduresand quality standards as required by Galloways Society for

    the Blind.

    11. To keep up to date with new developments and ideas and to

    be flexible in service delivery.

    12. To develop good working relationships with local community

    groups and keep up to date with local activities.

    13. To encourage people to be supporters of Galloways Societyfor the Blind.

    14. To undertake any other duties that are requested and that are

    Workinfor Galloways

    Job Title Vision Services Co-ordinator

    Location

    This post will be based at our Morecambe office. However youmay be required to visit all our offices on a regular basis.

    SalaryThe salary for this post is 12,000 per annum however a lowersalary maybe offered to a suitable candidate without the requiredexperience.

    Hours of WorkNormal office hours are 21 per week, times and days to benegotiated. However you may be required to work some additionalhours to meet the demands of the role.

    Pension

    After a qualifying period of six months, the Society will offer tocontribute 2% of salary into a Stakeholder Scheme on behalf of allemployees.The Trustees will consider making up to a 2%contribution to other pension schemes in respect of eligiblemembers of staff holding personal pension schemes at thecommencement of their employment with the Society.

    HolidaysThe holiday year runs from 1stApril to 31 March. Holiday

    entitlement for this post is 14.5 days per annum excluding BankHolidays. This increases to a maximum of 18 days dependingupon length of service.
