*Call to Worship Neena Kayande Welcome to the party! The stone has been removed from the tomb! Good morning Jesus. Your hands still have holes in them, Your feet are wet from the dew; and with the memory of three dark days of death You meet us, Risen from the grave. We don’t understand how; We’re confused about the reason why. But you have come: Not to answer our questions, But to show us your face.
You are alive And the world can rejoice again. Hallelujah!
*Hymn 243 Jesus Christ Is Risen Today
Prayer of Adoration and Confession Astounding God, Very early on that first day You transformed Chaos. Planting grace in a garden, Setting love loose on creation, Flinging joy into the air.
Very early in the morning, God created all that is good and beautiful. Very early in the morning, A mother placed her newborn in a manger. Very early in the morning, The good news that Jesus was risen and alive in their midst Was shared with frightened friends.
Let us confess the fears we bring this morning…. (Silent prayers may be offered)
Dazzling God bring us to life. Where we are tired and stressed, give us the energy to serve your creation; Transform our hardened hearts into grace; Forgive us for all the damage we have done And fill us with the joy of your spirit. Early on this first day of the week, we lift our prayers to you using the special prayer that Jesus taught us:
Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name; your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven; give us this day our daily bread, and forgive our sins as we forgive those who sin against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil; for yours is the kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen.
Assurance of Pardon God our creator, gives us new life; Christ, our redeemer, prepares a table for us; The holy spirit, our joy, calls us to service. This is the good news; The tomb is empty, sin is powerless, death is defeated forever.
On this very first day, And every day, We walk as God’s people Forgiven and made whole. Thanks be to God. Amen
Prayer for Illumination Rob Taylor Surprise and delight us God, as we hear today’s Good News. Give our hearts the wisdom to hear what our heads cannot fully understand. AMEN.

*Hymn Christ Has Risen While The Earth Slumbers (Words printed, tune is Hyfrydol)
Christ has risen while earth slumbers, Christ has risen where hope died, As he said and as he promised, As we doubted and denied. Let the moon embrace the blessing,
Let the sun sustain the cheer, Let the world confirm the rumor; Christ is risen! God is here!
Christ has risen for the people Whom he died, through love, to save; Christ has risen for the women Bringing flow’rs to grace his grave. Christ has risen for disciples Huddled in an upstairs room. He whose word inspired creation Can’t be silenced by the tomb.
Christ has risen, and forever Lives to challenge and to change All whose lives are messed or mangled, All who find religion strange. Christ is risen, Christ is present Making us what he has been Evidence of transformation In which God is known and seen.
*Benediction
*Choral Amen
