1/5/10 Dear K&N, Thank you SO much for everything you have done to not only extend our dog’s life, but to make the quality of her life better than it has been for months. Our story is as follows: On Thanksgiving weekend of 2009, Maddie, our 12 1/2 year old yellow lab/golden retriever was having a lot of trouble walking. She fell several times and we became very concerned that her arthritis had suddenly worsened. To make matters worse, she began to have periods of twitching and complete lethargy which we attributed to small seizures. She has been on 36 units of insulin twice daily for a few years and we were concerned she was probably having problems with blood sugar as well. Our veterinarian prescribed stronger medication, Metacam, to help with the arthritis and we noticed a dramatic difference within a day. Unfortunately, the seizure activity resumed and by the following weekend we decided she had endured enough suffering and called to have her put to sleep. Vinny’s Story — How It All Began!

Vinny, an Italian Greyhound, is the inspiration and driving force behind Vintek NutritionTM LLC and Dia-Treaties®. Our hero’s story starts 4 years ago when Dr. Lukens diagnosed Vinny with diabetes. Symptoms of this disease first appeared in Vinny as excess thirst, nighttime potty breaks and frequent “accidents.” Vinny immediately started a regimen of insulin, but despite all the best efforts, Vinny was slipping away. He became insulin resistant. He rapidly lost weight and eventually, his eyesight.

Losing hope, Vinny’s owners knew something had to be done. After a lot of research and many prayers, a formula was created and tested on Vinny. Within three days of taking the formula along with his insulin, Vinny’s blood sugar levels stabilized as did his water consumption. After careful monitoring by Dr. Lukens over the next few months, Vinny began to regain his lost weight and soon returned to his normal energetic self. Dogs stabilized with either Vetsulin® or Humulin N® in conjunction with Dia-Treaties® (DT’s) were deliberately taken off DT’s to see the effects with no other changes other than DT’s. Within a week levels rose to 205-270 range (elevated). Babe was left off for 2 weeks and her blood sugar rose back up to 509. Upon reinstating DT’s, the Dogs quickly went back to normal or lower until the following weeks stabilization. Insulin was kept consistent - only variable was the addition of Dia-Treaties®. Bentley — Bichon Frise — Age 8My 8 year old Bichon Frise, Bentley, was having severe nasal issues. He was constantly sneezing and his nose started bleeding sporadically. Dear DVM:

Are you as frustrated as I have been in treating diabetic dogs? Getting some of these guys regulated can be a real pain.

For the past several years I have been involved in research, development and testing of a nutraceutical that has eased my diabetic treatment frustrations.

We have an English Setter that is over 14 years old. Late last spring he developed problems with eating, arthritis, and a large “hot spot” with hair loss on his back. Leo — Italian Greyhound — Age 7

Leo had a history of epileptic seizures and problems with his skin and coat—mainly bumps, flaky, itchy skin on his back. Our veterinarian tested study on Canines with Type I Diabetes showed amazing results. When Dia-Treaties® was supplemented with insulin all dogs in the study had significant decreases in their blood glucose levels to the normal range. Vinny’s Story — How It All Began!

Vinny, an Italian Greyhound, is the inspiration and driving force behind Vintek NutritionTM LLC and Dia-Treaties®. Our hero’s story starts 4 years ago when Dr. Lukens diagnosed Vinny with diabetes. Symptoms of this disease first appeared in Vinny as excess thirst, nighttime potty breaks and frequent “accidents.” Vinny immediately started a regimen of insulin, but despite all the best efforts, Vinny was slipping away. He became insulin resistant. He rapidly lost weight and eventually, his eyesight.

Losing hope, Vinny’s owners knew something had to be done. After a lot of research and many prayers, a formula was created and tested on Vinny. Within three days of taking the formula along with his insulin, Vinny’s blood sugar levels stabilized as did his water consumption. After careful monitoring by Dr. Lukens over the next few months, Vinny began to regain his lost weight and soon returned to his normal energetic self.
