Mineral resources

Vinnytsia region is rich in mineral resources. There are 1159 deposits and 30 types of various minerals, dozens of peat deposits, as well as unique deposits of granite, kaolin, garnet and fluorite.

Vinnytsia region has large deposits of primary kaolin. It is 44% of the total kaolin depositsin Ukraine. Hluhivetskiy GOK produces nearly a third part of kaolin in the state.

There is the only deposit of garnet in Europe in the region.

Unique decorative properties of Vinnytsia’s granites, sobyts, vinnytsytiv, charnockite allow to produce stone, slabs, window sills, monuments, etc. Enterprises of the region provided with granite more than on 100 years

Our region is the only in Ukraine, where there are large reserves of pelikanit. For the first time in the region it was found bauxite - the ore rich in aluminum. According to geologists, inferred resources of bauxite are about 3 million tons.
