Happy Father’s day to all of our dads!!

What is one of your most memorable moments with your dad? Mine is that my dad was my softball

coach for many years. We would watch the Detroit Tigers together and he would practice with me in

my front yard everyday. Thank you to all of our dads for all you do!! We

hope you join us for a Father’s Day Barbeque on Wednesday June 13th.

Community Garage Sale Saturday, June 23rd

11AM-3PM Sell some of your items for a good cause! Lakeshore Senior Living will be holding a

garage sale! Please contact Rae Smith to sign-up and participate in selling some of your own items with us

Memorial Day Parade Success!

Lakeshore had a wonderful time getting to attend the

2018 St. Clair Shores Memorial Day Parade this

past month. It was great getting to see Bill Pellegrino as the Grand Marshal and we

were able to have a comfortable and convenient

reserved seating area available to us thanks to Morisette Automotive.

Better Balance: This class is designed for the more active senior whose goal is to improve balance through core strengthening. This class is performed standing using strength and balance equipment.

Fitness Fusion: Using hand weights, resistance tubing, exercise balls &/or your own body weight, this advanced class is for active seniors who want to maintain or increase muscle strength/endurance & increase bone density while benefiting from aerobic exercise.

Stretch & Relax: This class’s focus is on deep breathing techniques, gentle movements and flexibility while relaxing to calming music to reduce stress.

FUNctional Fitness: Strength, balance, and cardio exercises that help strengthen your muscles while improving ROM, flexibility, joint mobility, balance/coordination and sensory/motor skills.

Arthritis Exercise: This evidence-based class is proven to help ease the pain associated with Arthritis. Improve ROM, endurance, and flexibility.

Clinton River Boat Cruise Friday, June 15th Departure: 10AM Return: ~3:30PM

The month is finally here for us to take a ride on the Clinton Friendship for a unique and exciting riverboat cruise. Thank you to all who have reserved your spots! The payment you have made has purchased your ticket to the cruise which includes a 3-hour cruise

and lunch buffet. There will be a cash bar available to the passengers.

Casino Trip to Motor City Casino! Monday, June 11th

Departure: 10AM Pick Up: 1:30PM

We will be depart from Lakeshore at 10am and will board the bus to leave the casino at 1:30pm. We will be there through our lunch hours so please be prepared to buy a lunch or request a bagged

lunch to take with you from the kitchen prior to departure. Residents will need to bring their own spending money.

Morning Fishing Thursday, June 7th and 21st

Departure: 8:30AM Return: 10AM

Calling all fishermen and fisher-women! We will be making some trips out to the local pier to do some fishing! Fishing

licenses are required and cost $10 for seniors for the season. We will be making a trip to purchase our licenses on Tuesday, June

5th at 10:30am for those of you who are interested in going fishing this summer. If anyone has poles and fishing tackle that

they would like to donate to our fishing group please contact Rae. For the actual fishing trips all supplies will be provided (poles,

worms, tackle, etc.) Please eat breakfast prior to departure, as we will not be returning until 10am.

Bus Trip Information! Each month we will have a set of bus trips planned for all residents of Lakeshore Senior Living. These trips will change each month to bring on new experiences and destinations! All scheduled bus trips are free for residents of Lakeshore. Be sure to check your calendar

regularly to reserve your spot for each trip. If you would like to attend a planned bus trip please sign up at the concierge desk

located at the main entrance prior to departure.

Independent Bus Trip Appointments: Due to the growing size of our community our independent bus

trip scheduling process has had to be adjusted. Please see below:

Independent Bus Trips will be available on Tuesdays, Thursdays, & Fridays 9AM-4PM

Please sign up under the designated time and day you want to leave lakeshore senior living. Take into account the distance and time it will take you to get on/off the bus when setting your departure time. Detail

you name, room number, estimated time of pick up, and exact address of your destination. All independent trip bookings need to be made at least a

week in advance and fall on the designated independent trip days of Tuesday, Thursday, or Friday. All destinations need to be within a 10-mile

radius of Lakeshore Senior Living. Any destination further than the set 10-miles needs to be pre approved by the Executive Director and will require a fee. Tom the bus driver will check in with you prior to your

appointment to make sure everything is on track for the trip. The scheduling book will be set up with a three months’ span to allow for

appointments to be made well in advance. Independent trips are not just for doctor’s appointments or visits to the

dentist. If you are interested in visiting your favorite convenience store, or need to make a stop at the post office, feel free to sign up for an

independent trip on the bus! We are setting these trip opportunities up for your convenience!

Concert in the Park Wednesday, June 20th

Departure: 6:15PM Return: 8:30PM

With the summer season here, the concerts in the

park have begun! We will be making a trip out

to watch The Groove Council—A band that pre-

forms classic soul, R&B, and Motown Music. If you have folding chair please bring

them with you.
