The information in this report is meant to provide a snapshot of Village operations for the month preceding.
The goal is to provide statistics and measures that can be analyzed and viewed over time. These reports will
be reported to the Board on a monthly basis. The reports will be added to the official files of the Village of
Little Chute and be published on the Village’s website at www.littlechutewi.org.
As we continue this effort, the style and metrics will be fine-tuned to better capture operational aspects that
will serve staff, the board and public with a more robust understanding of operations. Ultimately, this
information can be used to assist in policy and fiscal decisions on the future of Village operations.

HIGHLIGHTS
The month of February kept the Clerk’s office busy as we held our annual Employee Recognition dinner which
was a huge success and had Elvis as our special guest entertainment! We then rolled into a quiet, but
successful Spring Primary election where 356 votes were cast. We continue to pick up momentum in issuing
bartender and solicitor licenses and we are entering our busy season of room rentals at the Civic Center.

Attended Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau meetings.
Inspections at Nestle freezer warehouse.
Inspections on new homes on Tulip, Gardenia, West Main, West Florida, Buchanan and Harvest Trail.
Inspections on additions at Heartland.
Owner assistance regarding fire damage repair on Adams St. and Orchard Ln.
Prepared documents for developers and title companies on upcoming developments.
Met with or spoke to developers about upcoming commercial projects.

HIGHLIGHTS
4,093 Utility Bills created and 715 ACH payments processed by the Village.
46 Service Orders (Final Reads, High/Low Reads) for Utility Billing created and coordinated with MCO.
842 ratepayers have registered on PSN, 382 ratepayers opted out of postcard billing and 729 ratepayers utilized PSN for payments through February 28, 2017.
298 Landlord Notices were mailed for delinquency notification.
Finance Director and Accountant attended the Ehlers Conference on February 16-17, 2017. Conference included State Reporting Updates/Additions, Debt, TID and Investment seminars.

HIGHLIGHTS
Operation #ArrestingHunger- eight agencies across the valley including Metro teamed up with the St. Joes food program to fight hunger in the Fox Valley. UPDATE:
Jan-Peanut Butter – Metro came in second out of the eight agencies
Feb-Jam/Jelly – final numbers are not in yet, but Metro (and all three village halls that contributed) appears to have the lead in February
Implementation of the LEAAP (Law Enforcement Addiction Assistance Program.) Metro partnered with the Appleton Police Department on this program which provides a way for people addicted to opiates and other drugs to come to the police department and seek treatment without fear of reprisals or arrest. This program started on the East coast and has been very effective in helping people with their addiction.
On the notable incidents front: o Kimberly stabbing suspect taken into custody on 02/02/17. Currently awaiting trial in custody on a
$50,000 bond. o Little Chute Skyview drug warrant- Yielded Cocaine, Marijuana, and a gun. Subsequent successful
abatement, tenants have now moved out of our jurisdiction. o Metro served two warrants in Appleton while investigating a burglary at Jack Richeson & Co. in
Kimberly. This resulted in recovering approx. $12,000 worth of construction equipment and returning it to the owner.
Junior Achievement- on 02/10/2017, Officer Dissen and Lambie spend the afternoon at FVTC coaching 8th grade students from across the Fox Valley on crime scene evidence collection.
First Responder Training-On 02/20/2017 Slotke and Lambie presented to the Combined Locks and Buchanan first responders on precautions responding and working at a crime scene.
Officer Thorson and Stahmann collaborated to arrest numerous juveniles responsible for graffiti and other damages to the new elderly living facility in Kimberly as well as old mill site and sunset park.
Officer Stahmann conducted a 2-day mini-course at JRG where about 30 students were able to collect fingerprints, test out some of the equipment we use, and then took a field trip to the justice center. There, they met with Judge McGinnis, watched a portion of a jury trial, and heard from a dispatcher and a jail representative.

HIGHLIGHTS
Work with GRAEF Engineering to complete the feasibility and cost analysis study on the proposed multi-modal boardwalk to cross the Fox River.
Met with local media to discuss advertisement for the Village Market. Also, began to plan the layout and design of the plaza for this event.
The crew continued to work on the annual tree trimming route.
Began formulating plans for the future of the Doyle Park Pool.
Worked with the Diamond Club on the design of the Diamond Club Facility at Van Lieshout Park.
Performed tasks to begin planning for The Great Wisconsin Cheese Festival.
Youth dance program classes started on February 16 – total of 5 classes taught on Thursday evenings for kids age 3 to 11.
Finalized 2017 Spring/Summer Program Book and approved printing.
Entry of rec programs and descriptions in RecDesk software program to prepare for start of registration March 20.

Begin structural design and permitting for the ADA Kayak Launch at
Heesakker Park with McMahon Group.
Park Planning Committee Meeting scheduled for Tuesday, March 7.
Finalize a preliminary plan for the Village Wayfinding system.
Begin to operate the Little Chute Crossing Guard program under the Parks,
Recreation, & Forestry Department on March 1.
Review vendor applications with the Clerk’s Department. Begin to make
vendor selections for this summer.
Finalize drafting contracts for the Diamond Club Facility at Van Lieshout
Park.
Complete the annual tree trimming route for 2017.
Receive program books from printer then prepare for mailing with post office – deliver books to post office 3/9 for LC resident delivery 3/10.
Prep work for Arbor Day ceremony in April (coordinate with 4th grade teachers & local nursery, submit proclamation for event).
Prep work for Chute-ing Stars Dance Team tryouts (dancer/parent information packet, season practice schedule, confirm facilities).
Review applications for summer help following 3/10 submittal deadline. Schedule interviews for later in month with selected applicants.

3D viewing of the building will take place

Stonecast workers manufacturing the Municipal Services Building walls.

Visited Stonecast in Germantown, WI. This is where the walls for the Municipal Services Building are being built. Staff watched as the walls were being created in front of them.
Municipal Services Building footings are 100% complete. Plumbing installation began.
Sent out SARA III report – emergency planning, emergency release notification, hazardous chemical storage reporting and toxic chemical release inventory.
