Ergonomics (from the Greek word ergon meaning work, and nomoi meaning natural laws), is the science of refining the design of products to optimize them for human use. Human characteristics, such as height, weight, and proportions are considered, as well as information about human hearing, sight, temperature preferences, and so on. Ergonomics is sometimes known as human factors engineering.Alignment is the placement of text and graphics so they line up on the page. It's one of the principles of design that help us create attractive, readable pages. Use alignment to: create order, organize page elements, group items, create visual connections. The principle of alignment focuses on the placement of graphical elements and their relationship to each other and as a whole. Following the principle of proximity, alignment allows a visual connection with elements in your design to be formed even if they are not close in proximity. Alignment helps to create unity and balance.

Style: A distinctive manner of expression or fashion

Value refers to a Colours depth, from light to deep

Balance: Balance is the equal distribution of visual weight in a design. Visual balance occurs around a vertical axis; our eyes require the visual weight to be equal on the two sides of the axis. Asymmetrical balance achieves balance through contrast. Asymmetrical, or informal balance, involves different elements that have equal visual weight; the weight is equal but the elements are not identical.

The point serves as the focus of a visual, highlighting or drawing attention to important information.A series of points can attract attention, especially as they move closer together.

Strength in design: could be how all the elements come together to create good design but also could be seen as specific to the design e.g. “All tent designs place fabrics and seams under stress, especially during storm conditions, and it is the tent designer’s job to ensure that these stresses don’t exceed the fabric/component specifications, or exceed the manufacturing processes like seam stitching.
