A Few Small Facts

• The Vietnam Memorial Wall was dedicated to the veterans of the Vietnam War.

• The Memorial Wall is made of two black granite walls, each 246.9 feet and tops off at 10.1 feet.

• Construction began in March,11,1982 and was completed in November,13,1982.

Heroes Of The War

• John McCain was a P.O.W.(Prisoner Of War) for 5 1/2 years

• Marvin G. Shields got the Medal of Honor for extreme bravery behind enemy lines and saved over 10 lives.

• Gary L. Miller also got the Medal of Honor for saving his patrol by jumping onto a live grenade
