Confocal reflectance microscopy is ideal for surface imaging of highly reflective, opaque materials such as microelectronics as well as for metrology studies (Fig. 2). The VCMK-R includes all components necessary to add reflectance confocal imaging to pre-existing microscopes. Configuration of these components are outlined in Fig. 1. Thorlabs has developed a Dual- Channel Confocal Fluorescence Imaging Kit (VCMK-F) for easy assembly of a confocal fluorescence imaging system that provides two wavelength excitation (406 nm and 473 nm) and detection (405 nm and 561 nm).
