Stereotype

• A stereotype assumes that all members of a group share some common feature

• E.g. The two girl judge a book by it’s cover. They discriminate the poor man just by his look and attire.

Confirmation Bias

• Paying attention only to information that supports our beliefs

• Disregarding information that conflicts with our beliefs

• E.g. The two girls tend to search for interpret or remember information that confirms their beliefs. They use the foul smell, disgusting look of the poor man as evidence to support their existing opinion.

Prosocial Behaviour

• Altruistic Model – When behaviour are done for selfless reasons

• E.g. The sandwich uncle and the rich man are altruistically prosocial. They feel empathy and concern for the poor. They help the poor by giving him money and food.

Observation Learning

• Watching others (models) engage in behaviours and then repeating those actions

• E.g. The two girls watches how the rich guy gave the money to the poor guy and encourage him to not give up on his life.

Motivation

Intrinsic motivation•Taking a certain action for the sake of enjoyment•Leads us to be more fully engaged•Leads to greater curiosity and pleasure

•E.g. The two girl are intrinsically motivated to help the poor man. The motivation comes from the pleasure they get from their section itself.
