1 Introduction
This system client software V1.2 is adapted to MPEG4/H.264 technology serial DVR.
The client software can be installed on PC, and perform functions of remote browsing
and management, by connecting DVR through network.
The main function is listed below: remote surveillance, playback remote record and
JPEG pictures, remote host management, play local record file, remote intercom, network
backup of recorded files, electronic map management, remote alarm local action linkage,
alarm set defence, tour surveillance, local record/snapshot, time synchronization etc.
Except the above basic functions , this software has the following additional features:
screen partially enlarged, single screen / multi-screen full-screen, screen dragged freely,
preview group selection, software users authority management, electronic map alarm
linkage, the local log automatic maintenance functions and local Netclient parameters import
export function.
This manual is based on the current released software, if there is Inaccurate or
incomplete information due to the software updating, modifying, or upgrading, do please beg
your forgive. The manual will be updated according to the schedule, we will not inform.
2 System installation
2.1 Install requirement
Hardware standard: the required PC hardware is as follows:
CPU: Intel pentium4 2.0GHz or upwards
Memory DDR 256MB or upwards
Video card: 64MB or upwards. Integrated video card is not recommended here.
Network card: 10/100M or higher ratio
Screen resolution: Resolution adaptive, can be used with any kind of resolution in
dicator, including 800*600,1024*768,1280*1024 resolution and upwards. Support wide-
screen surveillance.
Note
Above-mentioned requirements are the lowest configuration to guarantee the
software can run normally;
The processing ability of the Netclient is depending on the CPU, the memory
capacity, the better the configuration the higher the processing ability of Netclient;
The screen split quantity of the netclient is depending on PC video card capacity, if
the video card capacity is less than 32 M, We will not guarantee the screen split
quantity can reach 16 or more
The netclient normal work is guaranteed only in the following conditions:
1. PC system required: WindowsXP, Windows2000 or upwards,Windows vista,
Windows 7;If you choose other OS, We will not guarantee the software can
work normally.
2. Install DirectX 9.0 or more advanced version, set the hardware acceleratio
n to highest , start DircetDraw, Direct3D,AGP Texture Acceleration.
2.2 Install and uninstall the client software
2.2.1 Install the client software
Run Video surveillance client.exe to install file at installing directory. Read
Installation Wizard complete Client software installation in turn.
Double-click the install file “Video surveillance client.exe” , and the installation guide
will appear in the interface like figure 2-1:

Click “Next”, you can choose destination location to install.The interface like
figure2-2.

Click “Next” appear interface like figure2-3, select language for application. We
supply simple Chinese, English Turkish, Bulgarian, Italian, Hebrew, Thai and Polish at
present.

After you select language, click “Next” appear interface like figure2-4, or click
“Cancle” to exit install.

2.2.2 Step of uninstall
Run “UNWISE.EXE” through “Start programs Video Client v1.2”, and the interface
like figure 2-6.

As figure 2-6 shows, you have three uninstall methods to choose: Automatic Custom
Repair. The default option is “Automatic”, choose it and you can uninstall all installed file
expect record and picture files; “Custom” means you can choose the files to delete manually,
choose “Select All” you can delete all installed files shown in the list, ” Select None” will
delete none of the installed files;” Repair” can restore software to initialization.
After the uninstallation complete the software will be deleted.
3 Software configuration management
3.1 Initial Configuration Navigation
After installed the netclient, double-click shortcut icon Client.exe on the desktop, run the
client.
For the first time installation, there will be a setting guide., You can set the netclient
configuration according to the pop-up window.
The first pop-up window is for login, as shown in Figure 3-1. The default initial
administrator user: Super. For the first time login, you should set the administrator and
password. (The password also can be null, and now the user is anonym).
Note The anonym has no authority of User Management .

After login client, setting guide dialog box automatically pops up, the user input the DVR
information, and determine select the preview cameras or not according to the DVR
type.The default is sub-stream transferring. If the DVR is online, select “Get camera count”,
you will get the camera count automatically and display the preview cameras. As shown in
Figure 3-2. Complete setting and click OK.

Close the setting guide window, entry the main interface, all cameras in the list will be
automatically connected .
3.1.1 Device management
Setup the first Add a DVR by initial setting guide, but later set up the host and
regional configurations in the "Parameter Setting" ---- "DVR Management".
Add DVR
Click "Parameter Setting" on the main interface, select "DVR Management", the left is
device list and the right is device setting interface. You can add new DVR by pressing “Add
DVR” on the device setting interface.

Device alter and delete:
Select the device need to modify or delete of the device list at the left of the DVR
manager, right-click menu option to edit or remove equipment. In the DVR manager
interface, you can choose the Stream type (main-stream or sub-stream) of the connection.
Alter camera name:
Select the DVR camera which need to be altered in the device list, click Alter
camera name in the device setup menu, meanwhile, you can choose "Get CAM name"
automatically.
Note Except the administrator, after all other users login, the "Device list" in the "DVR
Management " only show the authority divices.
3.1.2 The main interface initialization
The main interface display after configuration, the layout of each functional module
as shown in Figure 3-4.

The bottom right side of the main interface provides a shortcut way of monitoring: split
screen switch, alarm bell instruction, the window adjustment, patrol supervisor, intercom ,
local record and manual record. As shown in Figure 3-5.
You cannot close the client when the screen is locked. Please input the same
password as login to unlock the screen.
Alarm indicator: local defense, set indicator light flashes in the alarm related, when the DVR
alarm trippered the indicator icon will flash. Click the icon the flashing will stop.
3.2 Netclient User management
3.2.1 User Initialization
Software provides the initial administrator user, this administrator has the highest
authority ,can add other user account or delete or authority distribute.
The initial administrator user name can not change,the initial password can be
modified in the main interface "Parameter Setting" --"Local Setting".
The initial administrator and added user (super user / general user) authority table as

3.2.2 Add User Account
Except the default administrator account, you can add several external user accounts.
In the main control menu, select "Parameter Setting" - "User Management" to add users and
authority configuration.
Note: Only super user and default administrator have the right to add users.
The added user list is at the left of the user management interface, the middle is the
authority settings item, the rjght is devices list. You can add user, delete user or modify
password in the user list by right-click the menu.
The users level is divided to: normal user and super user. Super user is defau
lted to have all the authorities while normal user need to set the authority manually,
such as: PTZ control, video parameters, remote playback, local record, voice interco
m, remote configuration etc. The interface is shown as Fig.3-6.

3.3 Parameter setting
Parameter setting contains: DVR management, Local setting and DVR remote setting,
Alarm linkage setting, E-map setting, User management, Log search and System
maintenance.
Note The normal user will not see the parts which they have no authority to operate.
3.3.1 Parameter setting
Parameter setting Local setting contain setting items as follows: Local
Snapshot and local record setting , Interface setting ,Modify current software password ,Tour
setting and Group preview setting.
Local Snapshot and local record settings:
Snapshot settings contain the setting of drawings snapshot and local record file naming
and the save path, and setting of the sound select for drawings successully captured.
Interface setting:
Set the client interface display, including: screen color settings (video splits screen
background color, border color,and the border colors when the focus turned on the local
video and when we start the local record) And close the client settings (no hints, just
pop-up the prompting and password confirm windows).
Tour setting:
Users can choose different cameras to join the tour groups, the "Tour setting" menu
interface on the right frame bar to the left camera by pressing ,tour supervisor in the
list box, delete the channel by pressing ,realization of monitoring visits.
Set tour surveillance camera, the user need to set the tour supervisor according to the
total time, number and picture frame stay.
One tour supervisor to set the total time range of 0 ~ 9999 min value "0" has been
monitoring visits; add tour monitoring the number of channels required is the same as or
greater than the current number of patrol monitoring screen; screen to set the range of
retention time 15-999s.
Group preview settings:
Software to extract from each region to monitor any camera uniform. Just double-click
the preview group settings can be opened all cameras of the group to monitor.
Set: "Local Setting" - "Group preview setting", click "Add", click and ,
set the preview group name, adopt and be added and modified. By clicking on the "on" and
"down" buttons to adjust the order to open cameras to monitor. The icon will change from
to after you add the camera to priview group.

Note If you want to open group preview automatically when you open the client, the
preconditions are that you have set the personal settings-preview group setting-add-play
preview group auto and system maintenance-connect type-connect prevGroup. As fig.3.8
shows.

Software also support preview function, right click on split screen can choose it , As
like Fig 3-9 shows.

3.3.2 Local alarm linkage setting
Alarm occurs when the client host to provide local alarm linkage function ”Parameter
setting” “Alarm linkage” Alarm linkage settings accordingly.

Illegal visit alarm and Analy support alarm linkage mode: Alarm log, Voice alarm,
Indicator flash, Alarm pop up image and E-Map alarm.
In the dialog box on the left list to configure the alarm linkage of DVR, and then
configure the alarm type, the right type of alarm linkage bar linkage will automatically
display the optional alarm mode, the unavailable option is displayed as gray.
3.3.3 Log Search
"Parameter setting" - "Log Search" provide local log and remote log search.
Local log include Operate log and Alarm log.
Romote log include alarm abnormal and operation log and network log.
Search criteria Alarm, abnormal, operation log or network log can be selected in the
reomote log search Meanwhile the device, camera number, search time etc. can be
selected too.
Net log is the same log as Remote log of the host, following net information will
be displayed:POP3 or SMTP authentication error cannot find POP3 or SMTP server
cannot resolve POP3 or SMTP server address from DNS other faults during sending
mails(including Mail From RTCP TO order fault) other faults of DNS using NTP timing
synchronization success cannot resolve NTP server address from DNS no reply of NTP
server DHCP address Update fail DHCP address expire address invalide update
success host designated domain name wrong user name not same as host name DNS
error and no reply from server.
Export Log: retrieve the log information, the user can click "Export Log", select the
export file storage address to the form of Excel documents stored.

3.3.4 System Maintenance
Parameter Setting System Maintenance ,support Log maintenance, Local Data
maintenance, client minimize display setting, start PC connect typesetting and software
version display.
Log maintenance operations log and alarm log provides save and delete the time
settings; data maintenance and data import and export settings.
System maintenance inconfiguration Initial file name is ”client.mdb”.
Connect type: We have options of no connect, connect with the last time monitoring
changgels and connect prevGroup. However, you have to select Local setting- Group
preview setting-Add-play group preview auto to make connect prevGroup effective.
3.4 Electronic Map
"Parameter Setting" -- "E-map setting" ,you can configure the electronic map.
Configuration of electronic map, follow these steps:
Add map
Select ”Add Map”, write the map name at the root area, select the route where the
loading map; Select the root node, configure the sub-area node, remove the selection of
“Lock” in the E-map configuration interface, drag the sub-area to the special area of the root
area map.
After configure the sub-area, add the device, select ”Device display”.Drag the right
displayed devices to the left side or drag the camera to the sub-area map.
Chose the domain Click to delete the map, the map of the region can be deleted.
Map Zoom:
Click E-map interface, zoom in, the original size of the icon button to zoom the map
display can be realized.

4 Monitor
4.1 Monitor control
4.1.1 Monitor
Double-click the device in the device camera information list, the client will
automatically detect the connection of the access-line situation where the host, host online
with open access surveillance video signal, otherwise you will be prompted: "DVR login
failed!" . Open the surveillance of the DVR device information list camera before the icon
to be directed automatically.
Right menu area surveillance videos provide close monitoring and the current camera
monitoring functions for all cameras.
Preview monitor: several model support preview monitor function. It has priview
function if the preview camera is displayed in the DVR list of the device info, as Fig 4-1
shows, double-click the camera all the camera preview will open, as Fig 4-2 shows.

The connect type after client open can be set by Parameter setting-system
maintenance-connect type :
No connect: will not connect any cameras automatically after client open.
Connect with the last monitoring camera: When client is closed directly or
abnormally when some cameras are under monitoring, it will connect the
monitoring cameras automatically when you open client again.
Connect prevGroup: When you select this and set Play group preview auto
in System maintenance , preview goup will be connected automatically
next time you open client.
Note: You can set the motion detection alarm linkage ”Pop-up the alarm screen” in the
“Parameter setting”—“Alarm linkage setting”. When the alarm is trippered after you set
defense, at the top left area there will be an icon on the alarm screen the icon color will
change red and yellow alternately.
4.1.2 Monitor control
Monitoring provides the relevant passage: listen / mute, single frame / multi-screen
full-screen, split screen the number of switches, local surveillance drawings, local video
recording.
Play sound/Mute: Monitoring, the right menu you can choose "Start listening" or
"Close listening" (Mute).
Single image or Multi image full screen: Surveillance in the open under the
premise of right-click menu to provide "single-screen full-screen" and "multi-screen
full-screen" display control.
Split screen switch Click the shortcut in the main interface screen split video
zone switch, switch 1,4, 9,16,25,36,49,64 image segmentation.
Drag the screen display: the main interface, click on the shortcut in the
activation of the main interface of the video partition, split the region in each mouse
auto mouse arrow into a cross shape, the split screen you can drag to anywhere in
the partition display, while the mouse Move to the lower right corner position with
blocks in the area can be enlarged or reduced display.
Enlarged display screen: right-click menu to open the screen to monitor select
"Zoom" to zoom in on areas in which the mouse is displayed, choose "original size"
to restore the original screen display. You can also click the icon to enlarge

Local monitor snap: Monitoring, the right menu you can choose "snap" the current
single-frame images will be grabbed.
Software provides two ways to open the local recording: a) Open the monitor
screen to select the current, right-click menu select "start recording" or "stop
recording"; b) Select the current open monitor screen, click on the shortcut button
on the main interface to open the local video to open the video automatically
after the icon to , click again to stop recording.
4.1.3 Preview group monitor
To provide more convenient to monitor the host multi-camera mix, the client provides a
preview group monitoring. Users may need to regularly monitor the different host camera
refining portfolio together. Unified management control.
Add preview group: Click one of the monitor screen button select "Add To
preview group", set the group name to add. The list will automatically add the
display in the "Device Information" in the "Preview Section" column. Shown in
Figure 4-4.
Preview group monitor: Double-click the root node of the preview group can
open the preview group to monitor all cameras.

4.1.4 Tour surveillance
In the "Parameter Setting" - "Patrol Supervisor Settings" in the patrol set up relevant
monitoring parameters (for details, see 3.5.3 patrol monitoring setup instructions), click on
the shortcut icon in the patrol supervisor monitoring button to start the tour, click
again to close the Tour Supervisor .
Note: The monitoring process patrol against other video operations.
4.1.5 PTZ control
Host head parameter configured, the client can open the video surveillance camera
remote control camera. PTZ control icon in the right side of the main interface, as shown in
Figure 4-5.

Note: When you do head back to the host-side menu, please ensure that complete
withdrawal, PTZ control can not be otherwise.
PTZ control including: PTZ direction control, wiper light control, aperture \ focus \ focus,
preset point setting \ call and tour.
PTZ direction control
Provide two models " inching by single click" and " by long pressing" to control
PTZ device remotely. Control the PTZ direction by click the up, down, left, right,
icon on PTZ control panel.
Lighting, wiper
Provide lamp and wiper open and shutdown function. The PTZ should support the
lamp and wiper function to realize them.
Iris , Focus , Zoom control
Click IRIS,FOCUS, ZOOM icon adjust PTZ parameter.
Preset point set and call:
Preset settings: the preset value input box enter the preset point, then head
through the arrow keys to go to a location, click the Settings button, and
then head transferred to other locations, preset point in the input box Enter the
new preset value, click on Settings.
Preset point call: In the preset input box positions need to call the preset value,
click the call button, head will automatically rotate to the specified
location.
Tour:
Auto tour: Camera connection in the monitor, right-click menu select Automatic
tour, tour start automatically. Stop the tour click on the "stop automatic tour" to
achieve.
Route tour: Set the preset position, the host remote settings - PTZ parameters -
set the tour line, tour set, connect the monitor camera, the right menu to select the
tour line numbers, open the tour line. Stop tour automatic tour through the context
menu select "Stop tour" to achieve.
4.1.6 Graphic setting
Camera open monitoring the situation, click on the right side of the main interface, the
"image adjust" column can access the image-related parameters such as contrast,
saturation, brightness and color adjustment, the user can drag the progress bar control
buttons needed, drag button when the progress bar will show the current parameter values.

4.2 Record playback
Click the remote playback button in the software main interface. Open the
playback control page. It supports two mode: playback by file and playback by time.
Playback by file
Search: Select the record search camera, in the E-map or devices list, Then select
record search and playback mode: List by file, and then select the record time and
type, click ”search” to start searching.
Search by file show the interface as follows:

Close the playback interface, it will display the last search and playback record when
you enter it again. The max. display record searching is 5000.
Playback by file: The record search data show in the bottom Right of the palyback
interface, click double to playback. It supports four camera playback in Sync. Right
Click Menu choose ‘Close playback’ to stop playback.
Playback video area scaling: Users may need to, by dragging the video area and
the video data playback list of area boundaries, and expand or shrink the video
playback area of the display interface.
Batch playback:You can select many records by click the ”in the ‘Status’ bar,
then right click to select ’batch playback’, it will play back the records one by one.
Playback control: playback of video area playback control buttons below the offer,
such as the quick release, slow down, stop, pause, and the progress bar control.
The icon and mean the start time and end time of the record.
Record edit There is an icon in the playback control bar at the bottom of
Record Playback. For the playing back record, you can set the start and end edit
time by dragging and ,then click edit button to save the edited record.

Playback by time
Search: Select the record search camera, in the E-map or devices list (less than 4
cameras), Then select record search and playback mode: List by time, and then
select the record time and type, click ”search” to start searching.
Search by time show the interface as follows:

Playback by time: Search the record data by time, record data will show in the
schedule table as red blocky. Drag the blue vertical lever to the starting time point,
the record will play from that point, click the “Playback ” button to play.
Playback control: playback of video area playback control buttons below the offer,
such as the quick release, slow down, stop, pause, and mute control.
4.3 Time synchronization
Time synchronization is the function that can make DVR’s time be consistent with the
connected PC time.
Clock synchronization rights: it has a clock synchronization software administrator
privileges, other users do not have this feature.
"Device info."---"DVR" column select the right menu to select the required
synchronization host "Time synchronization". As shown in Figure 4-8.

4.4 Set defense
4.4.1 Set defense
Defense is to enable clients in a state of alert, warning signal when the receiving host
(external switch alarm, video lost when the alarm motion detection alarm, video block alarm,
disk full alarm, alarm unformatted hard disk, hard disk read and write error alarm illegal
access to alarm, etc.) linked to trigger a local alarm instructions: If alarm log, voice alarm,
lights flashing and alarm alarm pop-up images and electronic maps.
Defense first need to set the local alarm linkage parameters, "Parameter setting" -
"Alarm linkage setting" in the set, see the detailed linkage of 3.4 set in the local alarm
instructions.
Linkage parameters set up local alarm can be opened after the deployment, the
administrator can "Device information" of the "E-map" and "equipment" for the camera,
respectively, and deployed hosts; ordinary users in the "Device Information" and "E-map" in
the address camera deployment.

4.4.2 E-Map Alarm
"Parameter Setting" - "Alarm Settings" set up "E-map alarm", then when were deployed,
the mainframe alarm, electronic map image of the device instructions jump flash alarm,
double-click the icon to jump flash indicating devices, electronic map interface Open the
device camera monitoring. As shown in Figure 4-11.

5 Remote setting
Control menu area select Parameter setting icon to bring up the Parameter
setting interface, including "the host remote settings" module. According to models, show
the corresponding models of remote settings interface, including: device parameters,
camera parameters, network configuration, head configuration, user information, e-mail
functions, device status, system upgrades (or matrix settings, serial port parameters),
camera the first alarm, digital cameras and several other modules. The parameters of which
correspond to the host menu parameters set.
5.1 Device parameter
According to different models, "Remote Host Settings" will display the corresponding
device parameter setting interface.

Specific instructions can be the light of the basic parameters of the host machine setup
instructions. Set interface shown in Figure 5-1.

Device parameters include: DVR ID, VGA output resolution, OSD Contrast, Video
format. Set the interface as shown in Figure 5-2.

Device parameters include: Device name, Record cover, Device ID, camera number,
DVR language, the camera number, alarm input / output number, buzzer alarm, video format,
VGA resolution, transparency, daylight saving time format, date format, round tour, hard disk
full alarm, automatic log off, restart the device.
Specific instructions can be the light of the host machine to set the basic parameters of
4.6 instructions. Set the interface as shown in Figure 5-3.

Device parameters include: device name, loop recording, equipment number, DVR
language, the camera number, disk number of statistics, the number of alarm input, alarm
output number, VGA resolution, transparency, display the time, auto login and restart the
device, automatic log off, daylight saving time, the camera mapping.

5.2 Camera parameter
According to different models, "Camera Parameters" will display the corresponding
parameter setting interface.

5.3 Network parameter
Network parameter settings include: basic network parameters set, PPPOE setting,
DDNS,central management platform when the school setting.
Basic network parameters: DHCP is enabled, the host IP address settings, port
number, mask address, physical address (MAC address), gateway setting, the host
address management, DNS server address, HTTP port settings.
Http Port: Monitoring for IE when browsing, the IP address and enter the http port
number, such as IP is 192.168.2.3, http port number is 998, in the IE address bar
http://192.168.2.3:998.
Center management platform: the user access to a unified management platform for
unified management, management platform to provide additional network server.

5.5 User parameter
Add the user information management module provides configuration of the host user's
permission, according to different model, the user configure interface will be different.
Model 1
Authorized points: All cameras have the rights, part of the camera has the authority,
without the permission of all three types of camera.
User can set Local authority and Remote authority. Local authority contains: PTZ control,
Manual record, Local playback, Setting config, Status view, Advanced operations; Remote
authority contains: PTZ control, Manual record, Remote playback, Setting config, Status
view, Advanced operations, Intercom, Preview, Alarm upload, Control COM.

5.6 E-Mail
Email function: provide the email function that auto send the emails with alarm log,
operation log, exception log to the host when triggered Steps:
a) Select the email function “yes”.
b) Fill out the email address which the email will send to.
c) Select triggered model for email: like alarm, operation or exception.
d) SMTP server address input SMTP or POP server IP address.
e) Input SMTP server ports. Usually 25.
f) Authority select: off, POP, SMTP.
g) User name, password, sender address, Email title etc, user could write it as they
like, sender address could be virtual address.
When local Alarm, operation, exception triggered, the host will inform and send email
to the preset IP address and setup.

5.7 Device status
Some models provide device status view, shows the current state of operation of
equipment, information and control point information the hard disk. As shown in Figure 5-11.
HDD information:display the current HDD information, capacity, the rest capacity etc.
Monitoring Point Information: automatic access to the current host host-side video of
each camera condition, the signal state is normal, the hardware status and remote
connections video users.

5.8 WEB / Host software upgrade
"Host Remote Settings" - "upgrade" to provide upgrades and remote systems WEB
update function.
Host image upgrade: first click on "Select File" button, select the upgrade file, the
upgrade program format of the different models can have. Img and upg file format.
WEB update: First click on "Choose File" button, to upgrade the suffix name. Dat WEB
program file, then click on "WEB page update" button to upgrade.
Other features include: Some models can set restore host default auto system
maintenane remote power off download the language file, upload the language file,
upload font and clear font, view HDD information remotely, format HDD remotely, HDD
warning setting and DVR reboot or shutdown control remotely. The interface of model 1 is

5.9 Remote manual record
There is shortcut icon to start/stop the remote mamual record in the main
menue.Click it to enter the inteface select the DVR name at the left of this interface the right
area will show the camera record state of the DVR red means it is recording blue means it
is not recording.

6 Local player
Local video, remote video section to download local players to provide dedicated
player. Users can start menu - All Programs-Video ClientV1.2 select "Local player" open the
player, or through the main interface to control the menu area click the play button
to open. Shown in Figure 6-1.

7 Avi format conversion tool
Start Menu - program-Video Client V1.0 under "Mp4ToAvi", AVI conversion out of the
interface shown in Figure 7-1.

Users first select the video format conversion (. MP4 or. H264 format) path, as shown
in the middle box in Figure 7-1 shows the path to the next column. MP4 and H264 formats
for video file list, the user can choose video, in the interface box to the far right column
choose to save the path, click the "Convert" button to achieve video format conversion.
