Land Manoeuvre Systems Branch (LMSB) manages a range of artillery, ground based air defence, engineering equipment, specialist vehicles and general support materiel. LMSB has three Systems Program Offices (SPOs), which are responsible for the acquisition, fleet management, through-life-support and disposal of allocated land-based capabilities. LMSB is also responsible for the introduction of a new business model that simplifies procurement, delivery and management of commodities through the use of a 4th Party Logistics Service Provider (4PL).

Land Systems Division

The purpose of Land Vehicle Systems Branch is to sustain the ADF's fleet of B-vehicles, commercial vehicles and associated trailers; and to acquire the next generation of field vehicles and trailers. This involves sustaining, upgrading and (where necessary) disposing of in-service vehicles, and acquiring the next generation of field vehicles, modules and trailers. The principal components of Land Vehicles Systems Branch are Commercial and General Service Vehicle Systems Program Office (CGSVSPO), and the LAND 121 program. LAND 400 Phase 3 – Mounted Close Combat Capability

Program Summary

•  LAND 400 Phase 3 is a multi-billion dollar project to provide the Australian Army’s next generation of Infantry Fighting Vehicles. Comprising:

–  up to 400 Infantry Fighting Vehicles to replace the Army’s M113 Armoured Personnel Carries, and

–  17 Manoeuvre Support Vehicles to enhance Army’s tactical mobility on the battlefield.

•  Tenders closed 1 March 2019, with detailed evaluation currently underway.

•  The project is currently undertaking Stage 1 of a three stage evaluation process. This stage will identify a shortlist of the most competitive tenders to proceed to the next stage of the evaluation – the Risk Mitigation Activity.

•  A shortlist announcement is scheduled to be made Quarter 3 2019.

LAND 400 Phase 3 – Mounted Close Combat Capability

Industry Involvement

•  The AIC Roadshow will occur during the RMA Vehicle Mobilisation Period (first 12 months):

–  will follow the same format as successfully conducted under LAND 400 Phase 2.

–  details/timings will be confirmed with shortlisted tenderer(s) post RMA Contact Signature.

•  Purpose of the AIC roadshow is to provide companies across Australia the opportunity to showcase their capabilities to the tenderer(s), with the aim of increasing the work undertaken by local small and medium enterprises.
