What is Hepatitis B

Hepatitis B is a disease of the liver and is caused by thehepatitis B virus (HBV)

¼ hepatitis B carriers develop liver cancer

50% are asymptomatic

Health Disparities

Greatest health disparity between Caucasian Americans and API Americans is liver cancer, 80% of which is due to chronic hepatitis B infection

Of the 1.3 – 1.5 million known hepatitis B carriers in the US, APIs consist of more than half of that.
