Background With the delay of Unicode 14.0 due to COVID-19, our schedule for encoding atomic emoji characters has slipped by ~6 months. As such, we extended the deadline for Unicode 14.0 submissions. This document contains our recommendations, derived from existing provisional emoji candidates and emoji added to larger lists. II. Proposal Overview We are proposing a total of thiy-seven emoji dra candidates of which thiy-six require new codepoints (and an additional seventy-ve skin tone variants). Of these, 10 are existing provisional candidates. This year the subcommiee prioritized encoding globally relevant concepts belonging to the most frequently used categories. IV. Provisional Candidate RemovalThe Emoji Subcommi�ee recommends removing the following from the provisionalcandidates list. They will however remain on the respective ESC internal category lists andcould percolate above the benchmark for inclusion in a future version of the Unicode Standard.This recommendation is in accordance with our stated goals of encoding 30-35 emoji a year.
