The city of Delft Delft, a beautiful city with a historic city centre with old canals and ancient buildings, is more than 750 years old. The city owes its name to the word 'delving', digging the oldest canal, the Oude Delft. In 1246, Delft received its city franchise from the Dutch Earl Willem II. Delft flourished and new neighbourhoods were added. As early as 1355 the city reached the size it would remain until the 19th century. For more information on Delft, visit the official site of the city of Delft or the Delft tourist site. Finding Delft University of Technology and Faculty of Architecture (in Dutch: Faculteit Bouwkunde) On leaving the platform at Delft Central station you will notice many construction works. Starting at the front side you can walk to TU Delft Campus and the Faculty of Architecture (in Dutch: Faculteit Bouwkunde). Follow the blue dots.
