Velorbis was born from the hunt for a top quality classic style urban bicycle with a stylish and icon-ic design aesthetic that reflected the elements of world-renowned Danish design, and cool Copen-hagen cycling culture.

The founders of the company couldn’t find what they were looking for in the bicycle industry so they decid-ed to design their own urban commuter. Today Velorbis continues to improve its design of classic style urban bi-cycles and other lifestyle products, such as leather bags, with production in Germany, Sweden, & Spain.

Velorbis supports global urban sustainability and green transportation initiatives and its aim is to encourage as many people as possible to adopt a stylish two-wheeled approach.

The word VELORBIS® is composed from the words “VELO” which means “Bicycle” in several European lan-guages and the word “ORBIS” which is the word for “Ro-tation” in Latin.

Among other things, Denmark is known for its unique design and cycling culture. This col-laboration between the Danish bicycle brand Velorbis and Fritz Hansen combines the best of both worlds. The result is a modern city bicycle, complete with bicycle bags, where the focus is on the two companies’ shared passion for craftsman-ship, materials and aesthetic.

In collaboration with Fritz Hansen, Velorbis has designed the bicycle ‘Arrow Seven 60’ – a modern city bicycle that celebrates the 60th anniversary of the Series 7™ chair and, not least, Danish design and cycling culture.

The bicycle has a hand-built lugged and brazed frame with a leather seat and leather grips. The colour of the frame and the wheels is the bespoke Fritz Hansen brown. A range of unique features – including a leather emblem, a copper bell, leath-er-bound toe clips and high-gloss stainless steel mudguards – underscore the exclusivity of the design.

The Fritz Hansen leather bag collection is manu-factured in Sweden, using traditional craftsman-ship with the highest quality of material.

The cooperation between Arne Jacobsen and Fritz Hansen dates back to 1934. It was in 1952 the break-through came with the Ant™. It was succeeded by the Series 7™ in 1955. This propelled his and Fritz Hansen's names into furniture history.

Arne Jacobsen was very productive both as an architect and as a designer. At the end of the 50s Arne Jacobsen designed the Royal Hotel in Copenhagen, and for that project the Egg™, the Swan™, the Swan™ sofa and Series 3300™.

Chose between veneers in oak or walnut.All chairs are made of pressure mould-ed sliced veneer. All bases are made of chromed steel tubes.



BAG COLLECTION



All Velorbis leather products are created by skilled craftsmen using carefully selected materials. The leath-er is vegetable tanned using tannins and other ingre-dients found in different vegetable matter, such as tree bark prepared in bark mills, wood, leaves, fruits and roots and other similar sources.

Of all the various tanning methods, the vegetable tan-ning is the most natural and the most environmentally friendly.

The use of high quality leather wax will effectively remove most surface stains on naturally tanned leath-er. Some leather wax will make the leather go darker. Always try your cleaning product on a small piece of leather to ensure a satisfying result.

Slight natural irregularities visible in the grain of the leather attest to its quality and authenticity, and make each piece we create unique. Please note that excessive heat, water and humidity may fuse dyes to bleed or fade.

Lenses TechnologyVelorbis glass lenses are made from only the finest materials — providing unsur-passed visual acuity. All our lenses have 100% UVA og UVB protection. All our lenses are light weight and made of nylon. The lenses are chemically tempered to ensure scratch and impact resistance, then ground to perfection. This is what makes our sunglasses optically superior.

Frame Tecnology - AcetateAll our frames are hand crafted using traditional frame making techniques, each frame needs around 16 hours of craftsmanship.

All natural, allergy-free and produced from cotton, Cellulose Acetate is not only light weight, but it can be made into beautiful patterns and brilliant hues. Pliable when heated, it is ideal for custom fitting.

Premium, durable 5 barrel hinges allow temples to gently hug any face shape for a comfortable and customized fit. World class craftsmanship based on standards derived from optical glasses and careful attention to detail define our spring hinge mechanism, carefully concealed inside the temple to create a broader fit range and a flawless aesthetic.
