As a part of the same campaign, Vasudev Adiga’s recently donated a cheque of Rs 18.25 lakhs to The Akshaya Patra Foundation. The cheque was handed to Mr. Shridhar Venkat, Executive Director, The Akshaya Patra Foundation by Dr. Abhay Shet, a pediatrician and a customer of Vasudev Adiga’s at the Government High School, Jayanagar, 9 th Block in Bangalore. The amount was made possible by Rs. 1 donations by the numerous customers of Vasudev Adiga’s as part of its +1 campaign. Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Abhay Shet, said, “Vasudev Adiga’s +1 campaign is an excellent initiative. It shows how we can make a difference when ordinary citizens come together for a cause. A rupee donated by many people like us ensures a million children get nutritious mid-day meal.” He also addressed the children on the significance of the mid-day meal and eating nutritious meal. Mr. Jacob Kurian, Managing Director, Vasudev Adiga's; Mr. Shridhar Venkat, Executive Director, Akshaya Patra and Mr. Vinay N Kumar, General Manager – Operations, Akshaya Patra, were present on this occasion. The dignitaries served mid-day meal to the school children as a symbolic gesture.
