Everything started in 1771 with a hammer mill. 1771
– the Enlightenment was in its infancy at the time, and
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe wrote his “Götz von
Berlichingen”. And in Teningen we were beginning to
produce devices for agriculture and forestry. EHT is thus
one of Germany’s oldest companies.
EHT has been producing machine tools for processing
sheet metal since 1950: with its experiences from the
past and looking forward to the future – and with the
ambition to keep improving.

Press brakes and guillotine shears from EHT are high-tech
products used in sheet metalworking and employed
worldwide. With branches in Germany, Poland and
Russia, as well as a variety of sales cooperations, EHT
is internationally active without giving up the firm basis
of its headquarters in Teningen, Baden-Württemberg –
thus all EHT machines are still “made in Germany”.
EHT has always been characterized by its many years’
experience in the production of standardized all-round
machines and complex customer-specific sheet bend-
ing solutions, the extreme demands that it makes of its
own performance, as well as its professional consulting
service and fairness. And this will remain the case in

As one of Germany’s oldest companies, based in Baden-Württemberg’s Teningen, EHT

INTUITIVE AND RAPID.
The new generation of EHT touch panels offers you all
the ease-of-use and efficiency of modern control sys-
tems: considerably more rapid programming, operation
and control improves the productivity of your VarioPress
and permits direct navigation between production, pro-
gramming and machine adjustments. The functions can
be directly selected, saving valuable time navigating
and permitting more rapid and efficient setup of the
press brake.
PERFECTLY PROGRAMMED –
IN 2D AND 3D (OPTION).
The EHT controller permits programming that includes
calculation of the bending sequence and collision
detection both in 2D (basic configuration) and in 3D.
The program also offers feedback on product feasibility
and handling. Highly effective control algorithms opti-
mize the machine’s work processes and minimize setup
times. This simplifies use of the VarioPress, making it
more efficient and flexible than ever.
High-tech made easy. Programming is easier than ever thanks to the new and user-friendly EPC-Touch control system.
EHT’s newly developed high-tech EPC (EHT Press Control) system with touchscreen
offers considerably more efficient and easier programming, operation and controlling of
the VarioPress. You thus avoid errors and achieve an optimum bending precision with

EVERYTHING UNDER CONTROL.
Safety has always been a major concern for EHT –
together with Pilz GmbH & Co. KG we have now
developed a new camera-based safety solution, the
OSG pro (Operator Safety Guard productive), that
makes press brakes, and particularly the VarioPress,
even quicker and safer. The dynamic muting function of
this safety system shortens the bending cycle time con-
siderably because the upper tool can travel almost to
the workpiece at maximum speed whilst maintaining
enhanced safety.
AT THE OPTIMUM ANGLE.
The EHT LCB (Laser Controlled Bending) angle mea-
surement system optimizes your bending results from the
very first bended part because it prevents a complicated
adjustment process and reduces the number of rejects
to a minimum. The latest developments in laser and
optical electronics form the basis for a highly precise
and powerful device that offers flexible use. As a result
of its design as a tool-independent unit, the LCB can be
used with many tool geometries and special tools,
and offers the right response to rising cost pressure and
increasing quality demands.
Flexibility made easy: The angle measurement system can be freely positioned over the entire work length, either manually or as an optional NC axis.
Dynamic muting: While with normal muting processes the upper tool can only travel the final millimeters to the sheet at the permitted speed of 10 mm/s, with dynamic muting it travels at maximum speed until it almost touches the workpiece. The path that the upper tool travels with reduced speed is thus decreased to a minimum.

INTELLIGENT TOOLS.
The VarioPress lives up to its name regarding its tool
system: differing bottom tool clamping variants – one
mechanical (basic configuration), one pneumatic and
one hydraulic design – permit tool technology that is
precisely coordinated to your range of part production.
Moreover the bottom tool shift of the VarioPress com-
bined with the Multi-V tool offer a major advance in
efficiency: Two different bending operations can be
carried out with just one tool. Even the most compli-
cated geometries can be implemented in one pass. And
it is child’s play to integrate even special tools, thanks to
the CNC-controlled incremental bottom tool shift.
PINPOINT PRECISION.
The VarioPress crowning system offers the possibility of
achieving pinpoint calibration – independent of the
fully automatic CNC crowning system – of even the
most varied of forming zones, e.g. blowouts in the
bending zone. In this way, accurate and consistent
bending angles can be achieved effortlessly. In addi-
tion, the crowning curve can be individually adapted
for centralized or off-center bending.
Intelligent and flexible. The clever VarioPress tool concept and the precise crowning system ensure easy handling and optimum bending results.
The intelligent tool concept of the VarioPress stands for maximum flexibility and eco-
nomic efficiency. By combining the fully automatic CNC with the point-based crowning
system you can balance tool accuracy and tool wear. You thus have the press brake
totally under control.

Great bending freedom: The VarioPress offers you a free choice and maximum flexibility regarding the desired tool. Because, thanks to the bottom tool shift in combination with Multi-V tools it is possible, for example, to achieve pre-bending and folding without changing the tool.

A PERFECT FIT.
The VarioPress offers differing back gauge systems
depending on part geometry and complexity. They are
both particularly precise thanks to a special rack and
pinion drive and high axis dynamism.
You can choose from between three different systems
for your VarioPress: System I (the standard system) is
available with 2, 4 or 5 axes and can be positioned in
the X-, R- and Z-directions. The same applies for system
II which, however, is ideally suited for the use of back
bending aids and sheet supporting systems. With sys-
tem III (6-axis system) every stop finger can be inde-
pendently moved to any desired position – offering
maximum freedom for flexible production, for example
with bending lines running diagonally to the stop edge.
GRASPING THE CHALLENGE.
The VarioPress can be equipped with support brackets
or supplementary bending aids depending on the
application. Even handling-intensive, heavy or unstable
bending parts can thus be worked on by a single oper-
ator. The bending aids can be moved laterally over the
entire bending length and are adjustable according to
the particular bottom tool height. The bending aid can
withstand a load of up to 3000 N.
Perfectly positioned. The correct stop system and optimum material handling completes the VarioPress.
Totally in line with customer requirements: regardless of whether 2, 4, 5 or 6 axes,
whether a support bracket or bending aid – you decide what your VarioPress looks
like. We thus guarantee that your VarioPress is precisely configured to your needs and
bending demands.

QUICKER AND LESS COMPLICATED TOOL
CHANGES.
Tool changes on large press brakes do not just involve
a lot of physical effort – they are also very time-consum-
ing. Companies that produce in small and medium-sized
batches, in particular, thus waste valuable hours re-equip-
ping several times a day.
The EHT ToolShuttle shortens equipping times immensely
and ensures considerably increased safety at work.
The tools “drive” into your machine easily and rapidly
on ball-bearing-mounted guide rails – and ensure the
immediate operational readiness of your VarioPress.
A POWERFUL DUO.
It is not the machine that should determine the part
length but quite the reverse. For this reason, the usual
maximum machine length of about 10 meters cannot
be the last word. EHT offers you tandem press brakes
that can be used and operated either individually or
together – for maximum bending freedom!
STRONG – EVEN WITHOUT FOUNDATIONS.
Large heavy machines mostly have only one optimum
position if they are anchored in a foundation. The
VarioPress, however, is also available as a floor-mounted
machine even with a bending length of up to 6 meters
and a bending power of 400 tons. The advantages are
obvious: freely selectable and changeable installation
location, no costs for complicated foundations, and
high price stability on the second-hand market.
More than just options. You have ambitious plans? Manual tool changes take too long? Our tandem machines and EHT ToolShuttle are the solution.
With our premium press brake we place the greatest value on flexibility and customer-
specific configurations. Our tandem press thus allows you to produce an extraordinary
