What are e-cigarettes?

E-cigs are devices that give you the sensation of smoking, including some nicotine, without the disturbing odor.

There are two main types of e-cigarettes. Disposable e-cigs run on a built-in battery and come as one, single piece. And another one is a rechargeable e-cigs: have batteries, chargers, e-liquid, cartridges and an atomizer.

Vapes are becoming more popular. With more than 460 brands available online, they’re also sold in convenience stores and supermarkets. When e-cigs first hit the market in 2007 there was little awareness of electronic nicotine.

E-cigarettes are now offered in about 7,000 flavors, ranging from the comforting essence of apple pie, cotton candy, until the exotic style of scotch whisky.

And now, the biggest questions are:

ARE E-CIGS SAFE? OR (AT LEAST)

HEALTHIER THANREGULAR

CIGARETTES?

IT HASN’T BEEN PROVEN SAFEIn 2009, United States of America’s Food and Drugs Association (FDA) found that E-cigs contain some danger substances like Tobacco Specific Nitrosamines (TSNA), Diethylene Glycol (DEG), Carbon Monoxide.

However it is considered unfair. Why?

IT’S TRUE THAT E-CIG WAS USED AS A WAY TO STOP SMOKING, BY

DECREASING THE LEVEL OF NICOTINE AND USING

ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE GRADUALLY. BUT HOWEVER, NOW

THE FOOD AND DRUG ASSOCIATION (FDA) AND EVEN

ELECTRONIC CIGARETTE ASSOCIATION (ECA) ARE NOT

RECOMMENDING THIS ANYMORE

Some studies told, electric cigarette is more dangerous than regular cigarettes. They found the smoke from electric cigarettes contains 5 to 15 times formaldehyde than regular cigarettes.

AND.. HOW ABOUT THE E-JUICE?

Researchers from Portland State University were looking at 30 different e-cigarette liquids, which is what is heated into vapor through the e-cigarette. The researchers even used some of the major and more well-known companies, like Blu and Njoy.

The author of the study, Jim Pankow, said that a lot of these companies are saying they are using the food grade flavorings, which is one way to pass off these liquids as safe for consumption.

BUT.. When the researchers tested these liquids, they found that the chemicals included in the liquids were actually higher than what would be considered safe, a couple were even so high that they would be considered possibly harmful when inhaled.

SO? SUPPOSEDLY, THERE IS NO NEED TO DEBATE WHICH CIGARETTE IS

WORSE. BECAUSE TOXIC IS IN EVERY CIGARETTE.
