COURSE DESCRIPTIONThis meeting will employ both case presentation and panel discussion formats. Educational programming will include current concepts of diagnosis and treatment in head and neck medicine. New techniques and technology will be addressed, as well as outcomes of surgical techniques.
Course faculty is comprised of internationally recognized experts in academic otolaryngology. This meeting will provide an environment conducive to free exchange of experience and the sharing of clinical outcomes with the ultimate goal of advancing and improving patient care.
PURPOSEThe purpose of this program is to provide otolaryngologists an opportunity to review and update knowledge in general otolaryngology, laryngology, rhinology, head and neck surgery, facial plastics, and otology.
OBJECTIVESAfter participating in this CME activity, participants should be able to describe and discuss:• Current evidence-based medical and surgical management of patients with
common and uncommon disorders of the ears, nose, throat, head and neck
• Emerging protocols, procedures, and techniques being investigated in major teaching centers
• Future developments in the management of otolaryngologic disorders
TARGET AUDIENCEThis program is designed for practicing otolaryngologists and otolaryngology residents and fellows seeking the latest information in head and neck medicine.
MEETING LOCATIONThe Vanderbilt Otolaryngology Symposium is held in Vail,Colorado, where participants can take advantage of some of the world’s finest skiing. All components of the meeting will be held at The Lodge at Vail.

The Vanderbilt Bill Wilkerson Center for Otolaryngology and Communication Sciences inhabits a $61 million comprehensive, state-of-the art facility in Nashville, Tennessee. More than 300 full-time professionals serve the world of human communication. The Center educates approximately 160 graduate students, residents and fellows annually in highly competitive training programs. The Departments of Hearing & Speech Sciences and Otolaryngology consistently receive top national rankings; Audiology is nationally ranked as a top program. The Bill Wilkerson research and education enterprise consists of nearly 50 grants totaling nearly $10 million dollars annually. The Center’s efforts are aided by five endowed chairs.
