Sediments deposited in this valley, at the base of the remnant inverted relief may be of utmost interest in the concentration and preservation of possible organic matter. Morphology & mineralogy: Valleys and inverted valleys filled by dark material are on the slope of the flank of Mawrth Vallis. They are only few kilometers long and some reach the floor of the outflow channel. Most valleys cut into layers of different mineralogies. Rational: Valleys and inverted valleys have cut into the flank of Mawrth Vallis.Sediments deposited in this valley, at the base of the remnant inverted relief may be of utmost interest in the concentration and preservation of possible organic matter.

Morphology & mineralogy: Valleys and inverted valleys filled by dark material are on the slope of the flank of Mawrth Vallis. They are only few kilometers long and some reach the floor of the outflow channel. Most valleys cut into layers of different mineralogies.

MSL tasks: At large scale, seek possible fluvial sediments exposed in the valleys. At small scale, study the grain structure, the mineralogy and chemistry of the rocks on valley floors.
