St Valentine's DaySt Valentine's Day.

  It is a very sentimental unofficial holiday, celebrated on the 14th February by those who believe in love and friendship. Boys and girls, husbands and wives, just friends send nice cards to each other with warm greetings on the day. The legend tells us a story of an Italian monk Valentine who helped young people to marry breaching thus the ruler's law. St Valentine was executed but people still remember him and celebrate this Saint's day as a day of love.  The best presents are small trifles, chocolates and greeting cards.

Love poemsLove poems

• She walks in beauty,like the night

• Of cloudless climes and starry skies,

• And all that’s best of dark and bright,

• Meet in the aspect and her eyes;

• Thus mellow’d to that tender light

• Which heaven and gaudy day denies

• Lord Byron

• What’s in a name? That’s which we call a rose

• By any other word would smell as sweet.

• So Romeo would, were he not called Romeo,

• Retain that dear perfection which he owes

• Without that title.Romeo, deny your name;

• And for your name,which is no part of you,

• Take all myself.• W. Shakespare
