We’re so excited to share with them the stories of the love of Jesus. Bible School will be held Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 12 noon in the church hall. Parents are asked to drop the children off no earlier than 8:15 and pick them up no later than 12:15. Be watching the church’s Facebook page for updates and photos as we learn that no matter where we live, what we look like, the color of our skin and even though we may come from non-traditional families, Jesus still loves us. Orientation for VBS Teens and Adults All teens and adults who will be working with us for Va- cation Bible School are asked to attend a meeting this Sun- day, June 22, from 4 to 5 p.m. in the church hall. This will be an opportunity for all to see the set-up for Vacation Bible School, learn about the schedule, what our roles will be for the week and ask questions. Please take the time to come by on Sunday for this very important meeting. VBS Closing Program on Friday Everyone is invited to the closing program of Vacation Bible School on Friday, June 27, beginning at 11:30 a.m. in the church hall. The children will show us the songs they learned, have some of their projects on display and tell us about the lessons they learned about Jesus. Please come and share this time with the children. VBS Closing Mass on Sunday Here’s another opportunity for celebration! We will close out our Vacation Bible School experience of Weird Animals at the 9 a.m. Mass on Sun., June 29. We hope that all 80 children registered for Vacation Bible School will be there to join in the singing and participating at the morning liturgy. We encourage the parents and grandparents of these children to come to church and bring the children so that we can have a wonderful celebration of all that God has done for us during Bible School week and always. We look forward to seeing all of you there and celebrat- ing with all of you the love of Christ Jesus. Adult VBS Everyone is invited to join us for Adult Vacation Bible School beginning Monday, June 23 at 6:30 p.m. in Holy Cross Hall. Each evening we will view a video based on the same theme as the children’s VBS for the day. Then we will have discussion on the video and the theme of the day. There is no cost for Adult VBS and each evening is ex- pected to last just a little over an hour. Come and celebrate with us as we connect with each other and with God! We believe that adults really want to talk about these topics and the host-led experiences make for interesting conversations. Our themes again are Overcoming Hardship, The Black and White Truth About Racism, Follow Your Dreams, Amaz- ing Grace and Does God Have a Plan for You. The stories are remarkable. You will be touched. Please come! If you can’t come every night, come when you can.

A VOCATION VIEWCorpus Christi; June 22, 2014 Jesus poured out his life. He could be inviting you to consider doing the same for Him. If you think God is calling you to a vocation, call Fr. Matt Dupre, 225.336.8778, [email protected].
Next weekend we will take up the Peter’s Pence Collection, which provides the Holy Father with the funds he needs to carry out his chari-table works around the world. The proceeds benefit the most disadvantaged: victims of war, oppression, and disas-ters. Join our Holy Father as a witness of charity to those who are suffering.

We extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who has contributed to the breakfast and dinner menus for the sum-mer mission which will be held here Sunday through Satur-day, July 13-19. The menu is about filled now. We still need several bathrooms for showers in the eve-ning. Please call Brenda Gravois, 265-2478, to offer your home for that. invite everyone from our parish to participate in the Summer Mission Sunday through Saturday, July 13-19. We still need donations of bottled water, paper towels and napkins. These can be left at the main entrance of the church hall and someone will pick it up and put it inside. What we need most of all are volunteers to help in the kitchen in the morning for breakfast and the evening to fill the ice chests for the next day. To volunteer for the kitchen, call Catherine Hymel, 265-4394.

Thanks to the anonymous do-nors who had this new sign built and installed at the corner of Hwy. 20 and 644. It is clean, clearly visible, does not block the line of sight at the in-tersection and points the way to the church. Your generosity is certainly appreciated!
