Development Law and Policy (JSDLP) The JSDLP is organizing a colloquium on Sustainable Law on February 13th, 2015 at the McGill University Faculty of Law. The purpose of this colloquium is to build a dialogue about the role and adaptability of law to economic and social changes, especially in the context of development. Cognizant of the multidimensional nature of development, we hope to foster dialogue between various parties, including lawyers, practitioners, academics, and students.

Building sustainable long-term development poses many interesting questions about the role of law in these processes. In particular, questions regarding (a) laws role protecting human rights in the context of economic development; and (b) laws role in preventing and correcting social injustices, are of pressing importance. These are the two themes of the colloquium.
