PLBRA / PLB ManagementMeeting Notes

New Windows for Garden UnitsPLB Management advised that new window installation is nearly completed in Block 26 and that subject work will be completed in Block 24 within the next two / three weeks.

The Vice President Prime Group in charge of Park La Brea, (PLB’s General Manager), stated that, “the new windows provide excellent sound proofing and a cooler living environment.”

Conversion of the Vehicle Entry Gate (Hauser Blvd / Fuller Ave)PLB Management reported that on or about August 24, 2019 the Manned Gate at the Hauser Blvd and Fuller Ave entrance to Park La Brea will become exclusively an Automatically Controlled Gate.

Electrical UpgradesPLB Management advised that the LADWP is presently installing expanded electrical cabling in Towers 33 (360 S. Burnside Ave), 34 (386 S. Burnside Ave) and 35 (351 S. Fuller Ave) to give subject towers greater electrical capabilities.

PLB Management further advised that “periods of no electrical service” may be experienced while subject upgrade work is in progress.

- Safety First - AT&T Fiber Optic Service at Park La Brea

PLB Management reported that Fiber Optic hook-up capability has been completed for all Tower Buildings and that subject work is presently in progress for the Garden Blocks.

Town Hall Meeting with Top PLB Management

PLB Management has agreed to a Town Hall Meeting with PLB Residents to be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 7 – 8 PM.

Subject meeting will take place at the PLB Activity Center Theater.

All Park La Brea residents are welcome.

NATIONAL NIGHT OUT

National Night Out, ‘America’s Night Out Against Crime,’ is an annual community building campaign that promotes Police – Community cooperation and neighborhood camaraderie to make our neighborhoods safer, more caring places to live in. This event is designed to enhance the relationship between citizens and law enforcement and tries to instill a true sense of community in each neighborhood.

PLAYGROUND SAFETY The playground should have safety-tested

mats or loose-fill materials (shredded rubber, sand, wood chips, or bark).

Equipment should be carefully maintained.

Swing seats should be made of soft materials such as rubber or canvas.

Make sure children cannot reach any moving parts that might pinch or trap any body parts.

Never attach – or allow children to attach – ropes, jump ropes, leashes, or similar items to

play equipment; children can strangle on these.

Make sure your children remove helmets and anything looped around their necks.

Metal, rubber and plastic products can get very hot in the summer, especially under direct sun.

Do not allow children to play barefoot on the playground.

Parents should supervise children on play equipment to ensure their safety.
