So far the winter is mild as predicted for this year. We had a wonderful month of October with a number of activities starting with the visit of our AACE International president, Julie Owen. Her presentation on current state of the association and it’s future plan and “LA Metro PMO implementation project” was very well received. On October 16th, we had a presentation at the University of Calgary targeted towards the youth. Julie Owen introduced AACEI to university students, youth in project control (YPC), and women in project control (WPC). There was a lot of interest in AACEI, which will ultimately help in reviving the AACE Chinook Calgary Student Section. This time AACE International hosted their quarterly board meeting in Calgary. We had a joint lunch along with the local section board On October 17th. We would like to thank Julie Own and International board members for their visit. Our next interesting event, which will be a technical dinner presentation on November 18 th is on " Estimate Quality: Mitigating Roadblocks to Success " by Dave Kyle & Frank Perez of Canadian Natural Resource Ltd. Please register if you have not done it yet, seats are filling up fast. After the November meeting, we will break for winter and the next event will be on January 20 th , 2016. This will be a presentation on “Integrated Project Management” by Michael Arthur. Please mark your calendars for these upcoming events. The schedule for workshops on CEP certification is finalized and will be held on 16 th April. For CCP certification workshop it will finalize soon. Stay tuned. Check out our section website regularly for further information. Thank you for your continued support and see you all at the dinner meeting. Mustansir Raj, P. Eng.
