TOUCHLESS APPLICATIONWith the application of the water-based solution through the electro-

static sprayer, there is no need to touch / wipe the surfaces (dependent

on solution spraying)this provides a unique and effective application

method.

REDUCE CROSS CONTAMINATIONCross contamination can be considerably reduced due to the touch less

effect of the sprayers. Surfaces will not be touched by cloths or human

hands therefore wont be moving the bacteria from one place to

another.

LIQUID ADHESIONThe electrostatic positive charge inserted into the droplet (unlike any

other electrostatic application) enables the droplet to adhere itself to

the surface via the cationic charge. As the droplets hit the surface they

create an even spread because they hold their cationic charge for

approx 2 -3 seconds therefore not creating drips as two positive

charges will repel from each other.

DWELL TIMESOur sprayers enable water based solutions to meet their dwell time,

The Brulin Infection Prevention and Control Program is a fully integrated, touchless sanitizing and disinfection solution that combines the power and efficiency of the Victory cordless electrostatic spraying technology with BruTab 6S, Performex, or Performex RTU, (EPA registered disinfectants, sanitizers and bleach alternatives that meet high standards for efficacy, safety, value, and sustainability. By combining both the technology and chemistries into one complete solutions package, this program allows workers and infection prevention experts to standardize their processes and eliminate many of the training and education challenges faced in programs that still use mops, buckets, wipes, rags, and spray bottles -- with a multitude of chemistries each with their own unique usage guidelines, dwell times, and safety procedures. The Brulin Program optimizes workflow, simplifies training, and reduces costs, while delivering more predictable and repeatable results that greatly exceed those of current disinfection and sanitizing programs.

Can any sanitizer or disinfectant be used with the sprayer?

Only Brulin brand products BruTab 6S, Performex and Perfomex RTU have been tested, verified, and measured to achieve repeatable results, based on application and dwell times. BHC makes no warranties or representations regarding products that are not part of the Brulin Program.

How long will the battery last once it has been charged?

Once charged the battery will run continuously for 4 + hours.

How long is the battery life?

The battery can be recharged up to 2,000 times, which will give you an estimated 5 years of use.

What if the battery will not charge?

If wet, the battery will not work or charge. Try to keep liquids from touching battery and charger contacts. Wipe battery and charger contacts with dry cloth immediately if they come into contact with liquids.

Can these units be shipped by air?

The lithium-ion battery should be disconnected from the unit and stored. See current DOT regulations for shipment by air of lithium-ion batteries.

What is the LED light for in the sprayer?

The function of the LED light is to provide better viewing clarity in dark spaces.

Does the sprayer have a safety certification?

The sprayer has ETL Certification which is the equivalent to UL and certifies that the products have met all the minimum safety standard requirements established by OSHA and carried out by Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories. The selection of either certification largely comes down to the ETL having a larger pool of testing facilities and the ability to process registrations faster than UL. Neither carries any benefit over the other.

Why are there 3 different nozzle settings?

Each setting was specifically designed for different functions and dwell times. We recommend (as the EPA requires) the middle nozzle (80 micron) or largest nozzle (110 micron) for Brulin brand disinfectant or sanitizing solutions – BruTab 6S, Performex or Performex RTU. Please reference the operating instructions shipped with each unit for detailed descriptions.

How many square feet will each unit cover?

For the handheld unit, a quart (32 oz.) tank of use-dilution product will cover approximately 1,700 - 2,800 square feet.

For the backpack unit, a 2 gallon (256 oz.) tank of use-dilution product will cover approximately 13,100 - 23,000 square feet. .

The variation is dependent on nozzle setting and surface material.

How do I explain that the sprayer is not a mister or a fogger?

The electrostatic charge of the sprayer allows the droplets to attract to the surface rather than float in the air, as is typically associated with a mister or fogger. Misters and foggers are associated with worker exposure and respirable concerns.

Does the sprayer need to have EPA registration or FDA approval?

No. It is a mechanical sprayer and is simply an alternative method of application from traditional spray bottles. The electrostatic charge (which can be turned on or off by the user) is simply an assistive mechanism to aid the user in more efficient and comprehensive application of EPA registered chemical disinfectants and sanitizers to surfaces.

Is the sprayer considered a medical device?

No. Again, the sprayer is a mechanical sprayer and is simply an alternative method of application from traditional spray bottles.

What is the durability and shelf life of unit (wear and tear)?

With proper care, the sprayer should last like any other piece of battery powered equipment. The sprayer should be regularly flushed, and should never be stored with any solution. Please see operating instructions for proper care.

What preventative maintenance steps may be taken to keep the unit running properly?

1. Remove nozzle and rinse with hot water after every couple of uses to prevent them from gettingplugged. See operating instructions for how to remove nozzle.

2. Try to keep liquids from touching battery and charger contacts. Wipe battery and charger contactswith dry cloth immediately if they come into contact with liquids.

How long is the warranty on the sprayer?

There is a 1 year limited warranty from the date of purchase on defects due to materials or workmanship.


If unit is not working properly and needs to be returned, what is the process?

What is the appropriate PPE to be used when using the sprayer?

The course spray should not result in any variation of PPE that is not already directed on the label. At the use-dilution all of the products in this program do not have any exposure concerns resulting in a PEL being exceeded. Refer to Section 8 of the use-dilution SDS for the product to be used in the sprayer.

How long is the solution stable once diluted?

All the recommended Brulin brand products are stable for 3 days once diluted and stored in a closed container. In an open container, the solution is stable for 24 hours. Refer to the label and SDS Section 7 for proper storage guidelines.

Is there a way to keep track of dilution dates on the sprayer unit?

No, it is recommended that use-dilution be prepared fresh daily for application. Remaining unused diluted solution should be purged from the unit by spraying until dry or emptied (refer to SDS Section 13 for proper disposal instructions). Rinse tank with water.

Is it safe to spray computers, keyboards and phones?

BHC and Victory do not recommend the use of electrostatic sprayers for computers, keyboards and similar electronics with the 80 and 110 micron spray nozzles normally used for disinfectants. Over saturation by an operator could cause damage and is too difficult to manage safely. Those items should be covered or removed from the area before any application with the sprayer.

Will the “wrap around” be effective on all surfaces and sizes?

In most environmental conditions the electrostatic wrap allows workers to achieve 3x the coverage of a traditional spray bottle. However, in certain environmental conditions (i.e. wind, room humidity, etc.) delivery with the sprayer may not be completely uniform. Wrap should encompass 3-4 inches around each sprayed object. In certain instances, one will have to spray around certain objects and surfaces to obtain full coverage due to size, distance and substrate variations.

In a hospital, it takes approximately 30-45 minutes to clean and disinfect each room and turn for new patient (or terminal clean). Will using the sprayer reduce this time?

With a two-step process, cleaning and disinfecting, the use of sprayer can reduce time by up to 40%.

Do you still have to clean before using the sprayer?

Yes. You will still remove visible soil (unlike a one-step process where you would have to clean/disinfect every spot by keeping it wet for the required amount of time), and then spray to achieve complete and quick sanitizing or disinfection.

It is a violation of Federal Law to use this product in a manner inconsistent with its labeling. This product is not for use on critical or semi-critical medical surfaces.

Equipment: Trigger mist sprayer, sponge, brush, cleaning cloths, toilet bowl mop.

Disinfection, Deodorizing and Cleaning - Remove gross filth or heavy soil prior to application of the product. Hold container six to eight inches from surface to be treated. Spray area until it is covered with the solution. Allow product to saturate the surface and remain wet for 3 minutes. For Hepatitis A Virus, let surface remain wet for 10 minutes. Wipe off with a clean cloth, mop or sponge. A rinse with potable water is required for surfaces in direct contact with food. This product must not be used to disinfect or clean utensils, glassware and dishes.

The active ingredient in BruTab 6S is Sodium dichloro-s-triazinetrione (NaDCC), which produces an Available Chlorine solution very effective as a disinfecting and sanitizing agent against a broad spectrum of micro-organisms.

While BruTab 6S does provide chlorine, it is not a hypochlorite as is traditional bleach. There are significant differences that need to be understood to differentiate the two product types.

Sodium hypochlorite in bleach is stabilized with caustics and as a result, it has a pH of 11 or higher. NaDCC on the other hand has a neutral pH of ~6.5 when dissolved in water making NaDCC less harmful to surfaces and skin.

Once in solution, NaDCC releases approximately 50% of its total chlorine content as Free Available Chlorine (FAC) which is the active disinfection agent. As the FAC is consumed during the disinfection process, the NaDCC continues to release chlorine maintaining the 50/50 equilibrium in solution for longer lasting disinfection power than bleach. Sodium hypochlorite releases all its chlorine content immediately and once consumed there is no replenishment making it less effective. This means that BruTab 6S is not inactivated by dirt/cloths/organic matter as easily as bleach.

FAC exists in two forms, Hypochlorous acid (HOCl) found in BruTab 6S solutions and Hypochlorite ion (OCl-) found in a bleach solution. Studies have shown that Hypochlorous acid has 4X (four times) more disinfection power than the hypochlorite ion. HOCl is very similar to the water molecule allowing it to easily penetrate through the negatively charged cell wall. Once the HOCl enters the micro-organism, it destroys the nucleus of the cell completing the disinfection process. The Hypochlorous acid found in bleach is used up very quickly, it doesn’t penetrate the cell as easily and solutions must be replaced more often, especially in the presence of organic loads.

STABILITY DATAA stability study was conducted and found that solutions made up of strengths from 100 - 5382 ppm active chlorine, retained the required chlorine activity after storage for 3 days in a closed container at room temperature out of direct sunlight.

General Solution Preparation: Prepare a fresh solution twice weekly (every 3 days) when using closed containers (spray bottles). Prepare a fresh solution daily when using open containers (buckets) or if solution becomes diluted.
