About

Private Mobile Radio (PMR) is used to pass messages to, from or between mobile units, for example people or vehicles. It is solely for business use and is not intended for personal communications, hobby or leisure activities. The system will alert, inform or communicate with people by means of coded bleeps, data or speech or a combination of these. The products below vary in their coverage.

On-Site Private Mobile Radio Licence

Licence for a radio service with coverage only within the premises or perimeter of a site that is completely under the user's control. Typical uses are within offices, hospitals, industrial areas and shops. Coverage up to 3km.

Wide Area Private Mobile Radio Licence

Licence for a radio service that transmits messages from a base station to receivers over a coverage area of 3 - 30km. Systems for third party use are licensed separately. Base station details are required for this licence.

National Private Mobile Radio Licence

UK-wide coverage. Base station details are required for this licence.
