to invite them to sign the anti-hunger petition at www.1billionhungry.

There have never been so many hungry people in the world as on this
World Food Day 2010. Let us refect on the past and project to eradicatehunger in the uture. With willpower, courage and persistence—and
many players working together and helping each other—more ood can
be sustainably produced, saely stored and distrubuted into the mouths
o those who need it most.
Here in the U.S. Virgin Islands, the University o the Virgin Islands
Cooperative Extension Service has taken the lead in providing educational
and nutritional workshops on ood production to stimulate production
and availability o ood. The agency regularly partners with community
groups, schools, government agencies, businesses and media to hold
this special event, to increase awareness and understanding aboutthose who are hungry and undernourished. Our World Food Day Drive
actually eeds the hungry in the Virgin Islands.
