Introduction to One-AAA – What is AAA ?
Authentication : check that the user has access to a network (via credentials)
Authorization: grant specific type of services to a user (based on authentication)
Accounting : track consumption of network resources by users
• RADIUS is current standard protocol for AAA
• Diameter: upcoming standard protocol for AAA
– Better transport– Better proxying– Better session control– Better security
