*Smart Boards*What is a white board??? A white board is a

presentation device that interfaces with a computer.

Research shows that smart board are getting more students involved and excited to work!!

The smart board is an interactive way to use technology in the classroom that is good for small or large groups as well as for distance learning.

The white board allows teachers to change the color of the fonts, research has shown that students respond better when information is written in color!

different styles of learning: tactile learners, audio learners, and visual learners.

Reflection I had the chance of using a white board during

my senior year of high school during cadet teaching. I was a cadet teacher in a third grade class and they absolutely loved the white board. It takes some time getting used to just for the simple fact that there is so much that you can do with the white board, but it is an easy, clean, fun way to teach lessons. The school that I worked in had a white board in every classroom in all grades. I am looking forward to using a white board in my own classroom one day!

*Cell Phones*What are the benefits of allowing handhelds in

the classroom? 1.Photography! Students are able to take pictures

on their cell phones and download them to a computer.

2.Students are able to access online.3.Students are able to communicate quickly and

efficiently.4.File sharing, using memory chips or just simply

texting information, students are able to share files.

5.Students are also able to access email accounts!

*Cell Phones*Studies show that our children in today’s

society are sending out twenty thousand plus text messages a day. Students all over the world have cell phones. Instead of our schools banning the use of cell phones, schools should embrace that most students have a cell phone, and find a way to bring them into the classroom. They are easy to use and have became very resourceful over the last five years!! Smart phones today can offer everything that a computer does!

ReflectionI am all for cell phones in the classroom!! I have

typed multiple papers on my cell phone, then emailed it to myself, proof read, then turned it in! I can access everything on my blackberry! All of my school emails are sent directly to my phone. I can also communicate with my peers via text, blackberry messenger, email, or facebook. I think cell phones would be great in the classroom if schools would allow students to use them!!! I will definitely allow cell phone use in my classroom for educational purposes.

E-Learning 2.01. The use of blogging is becoming huge!

Blogging is a great way to get students writing. Blogging is comparable to a journal, students are able to write about whatever they feel at that time. Students are able to set up a blog account and post assignments as blogs. The teacher then can access the account and read what the student has posted.

2. Podcasting is another form of E-learning. students are able to create an itunes account where they can download digital learning!

E-Learning 2.0Flickr is also a way for

students to share media. It provides a credible way for students and teachers to search for images for projects, presentations, and coursework. Students can also use Flickr to public their photography!

ReflectionI am a huge fan of E-Learning! I want to get the

students involved as much as possible! I love using websites and programs that make learning fun and easy. I had the chance to use blogging multiple times this semester at IUPUI and I loved it!! It’s a great way to turn in assignments and still be able to express your creative side by making a profile that has information about you and pictures. I also like that students are able to comment on the blogs that you have posted as well!

Conclusion I think that technology is great to have in

the classroom. It allows students to be creative and it also keeps the students engaged in learning. I feel that changing up the lesson by adding in technology it keeps the students wanting to learn. Technology is definitely something I look forward to experimenting with in my lesson plans!
