Suggestions• Google, Yahoo, etc have a different mission

to HEIs and different priorities• Separate functionality and figure out what

your core library systems should handle and what other (web) services will handle better

• Don’t rely on YouTube or Flickr as your sole repository of information … but do experiment with their apis

• Accept that the web giants will do some things better

• Learn usability lessons from Web 2.0 sites• Disseminate through Web 2.0 sites
