Iowa TIER■ Iowa TIER was developed

to support Iowa schools’ use of an MTSS school improvement process.

■ Currently, Iowa TIER houses reading universal screening data and progress monitoring data for students in preschool through grades 6.

■ It is required that K-3 reading screening data are uploaded.

Questions Not Answers

■ MTSS is about asking questions to identify where resources need to be allocated.

■ MTSS is about both system improvement and supporting individual students.

■ The graphs used by various teams will depend on the question being asked.

Iowa TIERContinue to build additional reports to support schools’ use of data in improving:

■ Universal Tier Instruction

■ Targeted Tier Instruction

■ Intensive Tier Instruction

Expand system to support other data components (e.g. behavior)
